In ten days we were lucky to manage khunjrab. If we include skardu side 3 days more required . Some of us were government job holders . It was difficult for us to add one day more

As far as my experiance is concerned those areas should be divided into two trips
1. Visit chilas , astore , rama , chilum, minimurg, domail, deosai ,skardu and its relavent sides , gilgit, naltar valley, hunza and its relavent sides
2. Fairy meadows, attabad lake ,gulmit ,pasu , sost ,khunjrab

When I went in 2010 I went to gilgit , shandoor, hunza, skardu, manthokha water falls n sub urbs in skardu...stayed at besham...n it was also around 10 days...astore side I m planning to cover in this summers

about making your day i would say i bought Pajero especially for this trip after making a trip on corolla so that i can go to these type of places and practiced for more than 1 year on it to drive on these rugged terrains ...that is y i m recommending u to take ur own 4x4 surf...

new jerrycans are available at Montgomery road lhr and used at bilal ganj lhr...but there is no need of buying those expensive jerrycans ...u can use engine oil cans 10 ltrs and can seal them by keeping a shopping bag between the cap and the diesel would nt spill out ...i have tried this on my last trip to gilgit n hunza n it was successful ...if u still wanna b more safe u can use old 10 ltrs can which people use to carry aab e zam zam, if u have 3 or max 4 cans of 10 ltrs diesel ...they would b enough 4 u...and then u can find diesel on pumps...that's my experience...

Thats a very good suggestion on inexpensive way of carrying fuel. Just wanted to add two points here... One is, the white water containers are not sturdy enough to withstand the stress of long off-road journeys...mobil-oil containers can do, 10 lit ones would be the most logical solution. Easy to fit, easy to pour in. If manpower is not an issue as two people are needed to pour that thing in the fuel tank, I good solution to space saving is the use of plastic chemical containers that usually come in blue color and available almost everywhere....very sturdy, seal off nicely, square-based ones will fit neatly and carry sufficient fuel to avoid any possible bad-fuel stops otherwise...
