How much time does it take to reach sheosar lake from astore?
How much time does it take to reach rama fron chilas?
What is the road condition of chilum to deosai road for a 4x4 vehicle??
Is it suitable for newer model 4WDs??

Because landslides happens mostly in besham - chilas area.

proximately 3 hour

chilas to astore 3 to 4 hour and astore to rama 1 hour

we couldn't say that is road,that is not a road,bs rasta bnaya howa hai pathron sy or kuch kacha hai

i never recommend that to go deosai on your own vehicle,you can go but not recommend

it is carpeted road,awesome road condition,3 to 4 hours

Bro it all depends upon ur vehicle. Car takes 3 hours to reach chilum. U have to cross little streams ...nala...where dhaka system is must. And chilum to sheosar lake two and half hours on 4wd .
Chilas to rama 8 to 9 hours depending upon road conditions land sliding.
Road conditions chilum to deosai rocky at initial stage and rest is muddy. Slippery road requires dhaka process so keep it in mind

M-yousuf its your decision to use ur new 4wd in these conditions. My recommendation is park ur vehicle at astore , hire a jeep it will cost 24000 for bara pani deosai and return back. Ur fuel expenses will be round about 18000 . tooot phoot alehda .
Rama to karimabad early morning departure , u will be there before sunset

August is a rainy season land sliding , road blocks is unpredictable. ..road is carpeted after raikot till khunjrab..besham to chilas un even bumpy road

M-yousuf its your decision to use ur new 4wd in these conditions. My recommendation is park ur vehicle at astore , hire a jeep it will cost 24000 for bara pani deosai and return back. Ur fuel expenses will be round about 18000 . tooot phoot alehda .

18 000 means 3 tanks of around 55 ltrs ...Dear u mean the jeap will consume more than 150 ltrs...if the jeap will do an average of even 4 , 150 x 4 =600 kms...and a round trip of from bara pani to astore will nt b more than 150 kms...the jeap should consume max 6000 rs diesel... in my opinion 1 can use his jeep to cross deosai from rama valley n go to skardu which is almost 134 kms...which can also b done around 6 to 7 thousand worth of diesel...

Yes ware n tare is an exceptional case...but 1 can go comfortably in his neat n clean jeap with stopovers of his choices...so keeping these thing I would recommend u to go on your own jeeps to enjoy till the max potential

Well dear u r true ...these issues r faced when u go there...the open petrol depots do not hav good quality fuel...but if 1 has its own 4 wheel drive vehicle he can cross deosai n reach skardu which will save a lot if time , travelling n effort...n will b economical also...

Not in good condition. My cars rear shock absorber rubber bush turned into pieces while travelling from besham to chilas. Fixed it in chilas .waisted 6 hours . Luckily found a spare bush. That's why I m in favour of using jeep in extreme conditions specially deosai. Thor phor sb unki .just enjoy ur trip rather spending it in workshops.
May be not everyone agrees but its my opinion

I totally agree with you bro..
Owned 4x4 helps alot it reduces your budget to maximum.
Road conditions also depends upon your driving skills..
One 4x4 cant do anything if a driver doesnt know what to do in current situation..
you can take it anywhere anytime...
I know way yo deosai is a jeep track.. not a road.. I just mentioned it as a road because actually there is a way to get on the roof of the world!

Bro.. As per my plan..
I want to drive upto skardu from chillum via deosai.. thats why I'll take my owned 4x4 surf. InshAllah.
I'll post an individual thread about my tour plan in necessary time & there I'll be needing more detailed suggestions..
Thats why im collecting information from experienced fellows..
And from skardu to different areas of skardu valley like khaplu shigar etc.
Then drive towards hunza from skardu.
So I'll be needing my own 4x4 hehe..
In short planning a big tour...
What do you suggest what should I do now??

I'll be visiting all other areas in my owned 4x4.
