Does anyone know what happened to the PTDC Maalam Jabba? I know there are people on Pakwheels who are engaged in the operation. I am missing that place a lot and I had heard that it had been burned down by that truck cleaner named Mangal Baagh.

ahhh... excellent place man.....i visited this place in early 2000....its still almost 100% same,as lovely as it was then... we stayed there for like 2-3 days n enjoyed a lot.

i remember there was skating ring just besides the hotel.i tried my luck at skating n fell down many times. but enjoyed it a lot

I spoke to one of our contacts from Project Hathian who was an IDP now back in Mingora, Swat. He said that now all parts of Swat including Kalam and Malam Jabba are open to the public and there is no security risk anywhere. He also mentioned that the PTDC, Govt. and Army are looking to organise a skating/ski competition at Malam Jabba in January. The Hotel was obviously burnt down as mentioned but the Govt is keen to restart tourist activities in the region. Will try to gather more info and helpful if anyone posts is he hears anything from PTDC .

yap thats correct..the hotel was burnt down and the ski lift dismantled. only the pillars are left since the miscreants took along even the steel cable holding the lift. Apart from that, just spoke to a friend who lives at the base of Malam jabba.....he was very much satisfied with the security conditions and hv confirmed that all roads in and out to various areas is open for public. Thats a very good sign i must say.

Good to hear that the security condition is getting better. I do feel sad about the PTDC being burnt down. It was a beautiful building. Hope it is rebuilt soon and tastefully.
