I have seen all you threads, they are excellent. Very informative.
Need some advice, what is the best time to visit Northern Areas.
Kalam, Skardu, Naran and surrounding areas.

bhai if u want to visit Northern Areas then my personal opinion is don't go during " season ".
in northern areas season starts from 15th May n ends on 14th August. during season u can see a lot of activity there but hotels used to charge double rates, same as jeeps,edible everything so expensive:(
best time to visit is april to may, n then end of august
kalam is in swat valley, u can visit kalam till end of october or november.
Gilgit can be visited throughout the year
if u want to visit khunjerab pass then from May to end of september
best season to visit Naran is end of august or early september

if u want more information then i am at ur disposal anytime

Bhai ye kaiya kiya, Mangla gaey or Fort paey gaey hee nahi. Waisey my Family have long relationship with Mangla and especially mangla Dam, My Grand Father was in WAPDA in the Mangla Dam Construction times, My Uncle Tayya was a big Machines(Buldozers etc) Technical Assitant or u can say Mechanic and he lost his life in Mangla Dam in an Accident :(, My Father lives their also for some time n thn ......

Mirpur
Old Mirpur was buried under the Dam Water, n Gove gave place in near place n some near Kharin, The Company which came for Mangla Dam Construction was from England n thy employ alot of Mirpur Persons n thy shift to England as England need some hardworkers n thts y now Mirpur have alot of £ & €, n in recent year thy shift alot of MOney n thts y Mirpur has developed so rapidly.

Why didnt u adopt the way of Mirpur-Jatilla-Shakrila-Sarai Alamgir(GT Road) along the Upper Jehllem Canal. its was short to reach Lahore.

Bhai banda pata hee karr leta haey or ye koi Lahore to nahi haey kaey har kooi galat rasta hee batey ga.

And on tht ROute thr r very Beautiful Scenery especially one the British made Headworks.(Y)
