Trip to Naran / Kaghan - help needed

Yes Kaghan,naran and shogran is safe. Try to avoid going beyond Besal.

And 12 days for this area is too much. You can add Abbotabad, Thandiani and nathiagali on your way.

we went to naran and about 50 km from naran to lolosar at 20 june at our car, well it was safe, there were many families travelling and its was just like muree, i didnt felt any danger.
if u are travelling by ur car than be sure u reach naran before sun set, because of glaciers, ur brakes pads should be new, and ur tires should be new,

well there is lake saif-ul-muluk and loulusar lake, hotels r not much expensive but it depend on time.

We went in June with family on our own car, it was absolutely fine and no problems. But Yesterday I read in the newspaper that roads to Naran Kaghan have been blocked due to rainy season and land sliding.

Plz refrain from going further than Naran in any case as Taliaban (Zaliman) mentality is fast brewing in areas in close vicinity. Inshallah, very soon army will wipe them clean just like in Swat than areas beyond Naran will become safer to travel.

Thanks everyone. for now the plan is set to Shogran, Naran and the moving further to Neelam Valley taking Norinar Pass and if weather permits. Finger crossed as heard heavy rain there. Suggestions welcome. As to where we can give onwards from Sharda?

Reached abbottabad. No sign of rain an skies pretty clear. And hopefully weather will remain same so we can move to Shogran

Just came back from Naran on 31 August 2012,, We started our journey on 27th August and during these days weather remained clear overall in these areas. Kiwai-Shogran road was under process and presently in very bad condition but the main road from manshera-balakot-kaghan-naran-Jhalkad was good with no glaciers on the way. Went till Lulusar lake, the police officials didnt let us go further as they said that there was a threat for killings like before in Ramzan end. The rush that started immediately on eid had just ended and room and jeep rates were very reasonable. Overall very good experience.....

Asif Bhai. It's been great fun so far and weather was never bad seriously. As soon as we left a place we heard it was raining there. Was stuck in heavy rain in makra and Mali top in Sree payye. Came back all wet in heavy rain. But was good fun. Today completed jheel Saif Ul mlook till base camp. Have to cancel ansoo jheel due to weather. may be next time InshaAllah.

i just came back from gattain lake trek and it rained for the 4 dayz i was there. made the trek very tuf

Yes indeed enjoyed alot. Trek to makra top and Mali top was unforgettable. Thank god we had horses otherwise I can't even think of walking on those trek. Just waiting for all the pictures as we used 4 Cameras. As soon I get pics from every one will post that.
