Everyone comparing to mehran. Mehran is available on control price and even under price for more then a month now.

Mehran has ended unofficially and will officially be off production lines by November.

Till the time United motors start delivery their wont be a mehran in the market.

Suzuki Alto wont be launching before 2nd quarter of 2019. United has good 6 months to prove it self.

If this is quality product dont expect it to be cheap and if it's a third world quality cheap product then it might be cheap but useless.

All the same, I'm not an analyst but you get the idea of what I'm trying to say, mehran vx + vxr + wagon r vx all fall in same category of uselessness, and this car is better than all of these. the only thing is that you can buy those cars and the bravo is at most gonna be 500 units initially as per my guesstimate. The market here gives you a chance but then it moves on.

I genuinely wish these guys succeed, not because they are my relatives but because it would mean good things for the local taxi Wala, government school teacher, subedar sahib and college student who's buying his first car with his dad's money​.

I think its time Geely should also step in the market. They are giving 5 years, 150000 km warranty for their vehicles in international markets.

Sir logon par blame mat dalein, that's my point and that's what I'm trying to push. Every failed (and not yet failed) new entrant story is similar with everyone saying that they came here and failed and could not capture market here. In reality though, no one really tried, everyone made a half as*ed effort and packed up (notable exception being gandhara Nissan and Hyundai with the sunny, santro and shahzore but those were successful). The reality is the fact that our market is started and deprived of any choice, there's a huge supply and demand gap these people come here and import a few units and woosh!. If someone properly invests in manufacturing facilities first like Hyundai nishat group is doing, they can never ever fail in this market where no car can be under equipped or unsafe and no amount of units be enough by a long shot.

All that said, the bravo is not fighting the mehran, it's more like trying to help Suzuki and the rest of the local manufacturers reclaim the local market with local/domestic produce and take it back from the large scale jap imports(small scale imports can't really be curbed anywhere). They want their customer, the common family man from the low and middle class back.

Another prime example from history but not so old is the Adam revo, it was a car with great potential which was supposedly 100% local design. I was of course too young to remember anything about them except for three I've seen still running in new lalazar Rawalpindi. But what I do know is that it was very bare bones just like a mehran and was off to a flying start with a huge order backlog but sadly the production could not even come close to keeping up and a few months later they closed doors and went bankrupt because they could not manage and were not ready for this type of response. Now our people say that xyz political figures were involved in the closing of the company because of pressure/propaganda from Suzuki/Toyota/Honda but that's mostly lies and gossip.

Fun fact: they also made a Jeep called the zabardast Jeep and a carrier(mini truck) which I was like a grandfather of the shehzore, I saw a few if these trucks driving around with a army unit around the westridge/pirwadahi area very often.

It's a truely sad piece of history long forgotten and insignificant now, it could have been our tata nano and our upcoming multi million dollar local company. Tata today owns Jaguar and Land rover.

Mehran ain't going anywhere until it is forced by the government, tell me one instance when a hit product was revised by our manufacturers specially Suzuki, cultus/Alto the pure examples sold for no less than a decade before government intervened and slapped them, otherwise the ugliest stoneaged bolan is still in production and if Suzuki is forced to change something they go to the courts and comfortably obtains a stay order, this is a publicity stunt that we will launch this and that, that ain't happening until then

But we r on the same page, if the product turns out just acceptably fine even then I would want it to succeed, because on the contrary we are getting an obsolete product which on the verge of shamelessness doesn't possess any ability to change itslef despite having countless shortcomings, if this product survives, then we can all together bash the company so that they improve it, and we can be hopeful that they would listen because it's their first time
We can't even start dreaming that suzuki would listen to their customers not now even if they did, enough is enough, let's make way for the good and better,

Yeah me too, I wish that company could have somehow stood on their feet, why didn't government Intervened and came for help, that could have been our precious asset, Tata is strong today because of yesterday's government policies and people's pride, we need to raise this kind of company again, why not, we are helping ourselves making satellites and fighter jets, how hard can it be for a nation to raise an automobile company???

The exact opposite is true actually, if I remember correctly the government had promised the owner of the company to buy a good 10k or so units, which would have been a huge boost but shaukat Aziz if I remember correctly had promised the owner if the company back in 2004 or so that he would purchase some cars from him for government use and later when he became prime minister he did not make good on his promise and that contributed in the failure of the car and the company since this was it's main product. I hope it's different for United since they don't really need the bravo to instantly succeed because they are already a stable company with motorbikes in the market.

We should have new entrants into to market to stop black marketing of toyota , honda and suzuki , sadly the previuos two thief governments did nothing now we look to IK to save us from these dacoits and black marketers ,Sadly baba rehmata also failed to do anything

Who is supporting all the 660cc crap ? They are supporting them selfes by providing quality. Adam revo was a crap on 4 wheels. If it was quality you could definitely see it on roads. One can still see Chevrolet joy exclusive etc but where are
Fiat uno desiels, adam revos.

On the other hand the factory that made adam revo is making major plastic items for all locally assembled cars. They did end up making cars but are now making major cars dashboards plastic parts steerings and even bumpers

The owner of the company as per my knowledge already manufactured parts for local automobiles, and the revo cost as much as a rickshaw so no one really bought them for the quality and less than a 800 were ever made so maybe they could have ironed out the issues like the Civic x did?. There's not much of a competition in terms of quality if the benchmark is the mehran, it barely has seat belts this makes it easier for the United bravo and gives it another solid reason to succeed besides of course having a 100% similar drivetrain to the mehran. I would give anything to see the mehran go away it's like a very advanced stage cancer.

Market dynamics have changed since last 5 to 7 years. People have embraced so many different types of cars in the 660cc category that you would never want to have in your garage.

The time has gone away market ki gari. People are coming out of it and spending their hard earned money on what they like. Their is a category of people who are buying cars like cellphones (disposable) bechte time dekhi jaega.

Adam Revos shape was one bad thing and then their was everything wrong with it, just like suzuki liana, Santo, spectra, it's not that people didnt embrace them people took chances but they were literally bad cars.

Why do you think people are driving all kinds of kachra 660cc cars and still not buying a liana worth half the money. Diggi wali bari gari. (Dont give me fuel to be a reason).

Because they are durable then a dabba liana any day.
