you are right. the version is 2.2.1, while the modem firmware version is 2.30.03.

What about the turbo sim technology? How can I get one here? I hope it'll work with that.

dear u'd only able to use mobilink and warid..on turbo sim..it works with unlocked iphone with baseband 2.30 with few issues..but without GPRS/Edge

but i believe using baseband 2.30 with turbo SIM u gotta need new SIM after 2 days, othrwise it do not work properly..at least i'm havin this issue (cos i mistakenly updated my iphone )

crack is coming in couple of weeks for baseband 2.30

it is easily available from the mobile shops or they can guide a bit about it...i got it from jinnah super (for around 1400 though he charged much but meri majbori thi to pay him :()

remember do take ur set while getting turbo sim and ask the shopkeeper to install it and before paying him get it checked thoroughly by calling /sending mesgs frm your turbo SIMed iphone...

Personally i do not own ufone connection so i don't knoe the outcome...(but telenor doesnot work on turbo sim for sure)

btw there are two types of turbo sim

1 is turbo sim which works with 2 SIM cards upside and down (AT&T SIM and Local SIM card (ufone in ur case))

2 is rebel sim which works with single sim card (local SIM card)..i'm using Rebel SIM..

and most importanly SIM applications menu doesnot come in iphone when you are using Turbo/Rebel SIM on baseband 2.30..and of course you cannot connect GPRS with baseband 2.30 while using turbo/rebel sim..this is all i know frm my personal experience

so price of turbo sim in singapore plaza+heavy murree road traffic+ parking problem in saddar +fuel consumption +peace of mind=Jinnah Super's Turbo SIM

Hello

You will face a lot of problems with the Turbo Sim. The signals drops every five minutes, VAS does not work at all. So brother, stick to your Xperia for couple of more weeks and wait for the crack to come. That's more appropriate.

Turbo or supersim works fine.. I used it for a month or two on 2.2.1.. and dude, your phone wont be unlocked till the dev team tries so, yellowsn0w wont work on it, nor would any other method, get super sim or turbo sim from singapore plaza, take ur sim with you, install it and check it.. internet will work, and your set cannot be unlocked BUT it can be jailbroken!!! so jail break it and enjoy it. Resale would be slow but sooner or later a crack will come!!!

And yes, there is no ver 2.3.. That is the baseband and once upgraded, it cannot be changed back! So chill!

Good to hear from you. Thanks for the suggestion. This is what I am thinking now. Actually I bought it in mis-understanding. The guy who sold Iphone to me told me about two phones one was unlocked and one was locked (the one I got). I wasn't clear enough in telling him which one to keep for me. When I asked him to bring it and then he gave me the set, I realized it's the locked one. Let's hope the crack comes soon.

for locked iphone use the turbo sim. but remember it does not work with Zong or paktel. I have one and it doesn't work with zong which is infact my official sim
