Kindly elaborate as to how the auto 1.6 has more features than manual 1.6?
Also, how exactly is the manual 1.6 for taxi drivers?

Auto variant comes with 16" alloy rims while manual variant has 15" steel wheels.
Auto variant has height adjustable driver seat while that's also not available in manual variant.

These downgrades should not have be there as price difference between manual and auto variants is 150k only which should account for change in transmission type only.

Indus motors removed these probably to differentiate the manual variant as the lower end version amongst the two.

Today, i selected an auto version of 1.6 due to its tire size with alloys. It was looking a little attractive than the Manual one's.

No harm in any car being used as taxi.

Mercedes-Benz e250 is also used as a taxi car in some European countries. In fact, Mercedes also sells a heavy duty suspension variant meant for taxi use.

So this makes e250 inferior to your altis 1.6 auto?

P.S.: this is just one example, many much more expensive cars than corolla are run as taxi fleet in many other countries.

Only cars that can take that bashing are used as taxis. Camry's in UAE, Mercedes in Europe. A city and Ciaz cant take that bashing at all.

Once i talked with a salesman at Toyota dealership. He elaborated the 1.6 manual as "sir manual Pahaarr (mountain) per easily charr jati hai, as compared to auto".
So, there might be some advantageous things in Manual version.
Again, its only a matter of "preference", because the price difference is not much.

Guys, it's September! As predicted by our resident Nostradamus, we were supposed to see the unveiling of 12th Gen Corolla.

Maybe the predictions were about corolla cross and were misreported as corolla 12 gen

Corolla Cross as CBU that too around 7 Million cant be Indus motors main product line. They need to bring the Corolla sedan.

The Corolla Cross just recently revealed and just went on sale in Thailand, local assembled in Pakistan would for sure takes couple of years to develop the supply chain for parts. I am not sure if +/- 7 million price point would be ideal to compete a Tucson or for that matter Sportage.

Maybe Toyota Indus keep Cross as like " halo" car for PK market and show the consumer that we have a product out there and maybe market it as a better vehicle and with more equipped to grab some customers. CKD of Cross by Indus can take easily over a year. Yaris was developed in over 2 years by Indus.

Anyways , just a thought.
