In 2014 cng installed GLi 09 models were advertised for sale in 9.5lacs & around that price tag
it was actually the real value of the car at that time
Nowadays same vehicle is for in 13ish lac price tag...

I wouldn't care about the resale as I would keep it for a long time
Nowadays if you buy a good used car it will cause a lot of up issue in installments & that's damn annoying

Hmmm... It makes sense, and then, that "antique" must be kept parked at home, and should be for "show shaw" only, to be displayed in Classic / Vintage cars category, and not to be driven on roads.

However a car has been well-kept, still, there is a market price for each and every car, and a sane potential buyer will never go beyond it. Yet, still, "shauq da koi mull nai", and some may go for it, despite being high priced.

Few months ago, I came to know about a 3rd or 2nd gen Honda City, in genuine low mileage and total original paint. Unfortunately, the seller sold it to a dealer, and the dealer was asking somewhere around 12-15 lac PKR for it, or even more (if I am not wrong, and can recall correctly).

However good that car is, still, I will not buy that 90s model car in 12-15 lac PKR.

And what's the usual condition of the used cars up for sale; engine, transmission, suspension, and especially body? the genuine paint mentality, etc.?

Old cars like classic mopars, gm and fords sell good if they are restored nicely, they command high price as they are toys

Same with classic european cars, but a 1988 corolla? Lol straight to the junkyard and collect usd 250 for it, you have to be out of your mind to buy it for everyday driving

Usual cars on sale are checked for excessive wear, damage or really odd gremlins like someone trying to sell a flooded car, paint doesnt survive in the south, unless you keep your car parked indoors 85% of the time, your paint wont survive, the clear will oxidize and peel off then the base burns off and you have an ugly car requiring a 3000 usd paint job

Amerixan brands fare much better in paint survival but still get oxidised.

Classic car = limited editions rare cars & these corollas were made in bulk for general public's usage just saw 2 of these ee90 for sale

Actually they treat them as a car & here a lot of people treat them as a price bond
For example Vitz 1st generation when it was freshly imported here it was priced 6.5 lacs & now it's selling for 8 to 12 lac rupees

this is a twofold issue,

One is that the value of PKR is now in the toilet - so todays 1.5 million is equal to half million of 10 years ago, however this should not apply to cars as they depreciate very quick.

the other fold of this issue is trying to copy "Hazrat used car salesman Rehmatullah Alehe" with the same age old stupidity of "ye market ki nahi hai - fail hai, laal gaadi ledeez ki hoti hai, mosami colour hai etc etc, saudia mein sirf safaid chalti hai"

so you end up with delusional people asking for astronomical prices for cars that belong in the scrapyard.

oh yes - dont forget to give free visits to hakeem for their kushta etc.. with all cars, the mard buyers may even pay the asking 1.5 million for 32 year old corollas.
