Here's my Corolla owned it for 2 to 3 years
Being a teenager I didn't knew anything about maintainance etc all those things
And gained alot of knowledge from my Fairly Modern Suzuki Swift & learned about the cheap tactics some of the mechanics use here
I brought my swift to a Mechanic for suspension work & changing brake pads brake shoes i found the shocks were destroyed & he MECHANIC claimed it's Okey I didn't had alot of knowledge about these things at that time but shocks were clearly visibly damaged
4afe is Simple robust & Mechanics can't claim it to be an alien technology that they couldn't understand...
But paying premium price like 1 million for a 97 corolla in my opinion isn't worth it..

Old corollas look best in patina, real soldiers with real scars, dont put make up on them.

While people are drooling over new civic I like Accord v6 6speed MT probably won't be available in Pakistan but in future I might swap a j30 with 6speed Mt transmission in an accord

I agree..
But in future options like MG Volkswagen Renault will be available available corolla & civic would have tough competition but still a lot of people would go for them because Resale matter..

The biggest dictating factor in success of a brand is availability of parts and service. Toyota, Honda and suzuki have that very well established.

Other brands selling trash as “luxury” or “unique” or “facebook flexing” wont succeed.

Resale of those cars is good which enjoy good spares availability (not limited to dealerships) and mechanics other than dealerships can work on them. @Xulfiqar has explained it very well.

Suzuki Toyota Honda have this advantage AVAILABILITY OF PARTS because they have been in Pakistani automotive industry for around 3 decades now

well - then explain why Nissan are completely hopeless in Pakistan. They have been in Pakistan for way way more than 3 decades.

You cannot just hope for unicorns and stars by just banking on time alone. It requires interest from the actual selling parties too along with good solid product.

SUVs Within 5 to 6.5million budget..
In my opinion fortuner is great deal in that price tag it does lack some features Because IMC doesn't give it all at once 2013 to mid 2015 Fortuner didn't had a Climate control option late 2015/16 model had climate control but it didn't had Cruise control
& I think it wasn't even available as an additional option as well..
They don't want to give extra features in car but they could've given optional choices as they are available in other countries.
Only if they have given better options/variants in fortuner.
then fortuner would've had better grip in market but in my knowledge it was only available in 2 variants only both with 2.7L inline 4 cylinder engine not DIESEL engine
back in those days Toyota fj cruiser were being imported to the country with 4.0l V6 engine fortuner's international full option variants come with the same engine & 1KD-FTV 3.0L engine
Unfortunately IMC choose to launch it with 2.7L Inline 4 cylinder engine same engine as Prado's
Considering nowadays market a decent Prado 2010 model would cost more than 11million & fortuner costs 5million

I agree 100 percent with you. Sometimes there is even a slight regret about selling. If the car has served you well, it gets imprinted in your heart. There is always the nostalgia element.

I had kept Suzuki Margala from 2008 till 2018. And beleive me it was one solid car with little mechanical problems even after +20 years. But more than that there were pleasant memories of visits to relatives, post midnight parties with friends, and more. If you keep your car like a gem, it seems to become a part of you even after you sell it.

This week I sold my cultus & started looking for an average condition vehicle & this is turning out to be a big task...
Everyone is trying to sale their FAIR condition vehicle for more then what they're worth we can blame government & manufacturers for significant increase in the price of Brand New vehicle !!!
But who would you blame when used vehicle prices are also increasing by time
Buying a brand new vehicle has became almost impossible for a middle class person
Having a vehicle is a necessity nowadays but public itself is making it a luxury...!!!

After reading & experiencing with a lot of chaska buyers..
Now we have chaska sellers
Looking for alto vxr nowadays found an add on classified site location was nearby my home so I call the number was of a lady she called her I talked to him & agreed on a visiting time that to 3hrs later more than 3 & half hour later I called on the same number & the lady gave me a lame excuse

They are actually the opportunists looking for fools (who can meet their unreasonably high demands). Sometimes these sellers also take pride in just getting good offers, while they don't really want to sell their cars.

Whatever the case may be, due to price hike of new cars the used car market is flooded with these opportunists (mainly the investors) who are roaming around with tongues sticking out of their mouths with lust and greed.

According to new automotive policy vehicle under 800cc category will cost less then a million NOT SURE
In my opinion it should have been under 1000cc category vehicle most of the locally manufactured vehicles that fall under 800cc are Chinese Knock-offs with same engine & transmission as MEHRAN
This rules is implied on imported Japanese domestic vehicles better known as kei cars
