Using 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies outdoor

I want to know if PTA allows home users to use outdoor access points (WIFI devices) of 2.4GHz and 5GHz? I know many people are already using these without any license but is that legal according to PTA's rules and regulations?

It depends on your usage. If it is for personal noncommercial usage, 802.11 abgn/ac are within the PTA specified spectrum, and thus allowed under the unlicenced spectrum. Indoor or outdoor uses within personal use are fine. For example, you are allowed to have a really cool wifi setup with multiple APs in your home, providing both indoor and outdoor coverage for you and your family etc.

However, there are some devices which allow far locations to be connected over 802.11 (Point to Point links). These are trespassing in public airwaves and not allowed. If found, these will be removed and confiscated.

I think maximum permissible EIRP Is 30db.

Be careful, distances over a few hundred meters can cause interference, and may be grounds for PTA to step in. If you live on your own ranch in a remote Baluchistan desert, go ahead and do whatever. However, in urban areas, its not easy to get away with it.

Thank you for your thoughts! I found the answer to my question here. By the way, I noticed that my Wi-Fi is not good enough for remote work. I have a lot of dead zones in my house where the Wi-Fi is very bad or has a very weak signal at all and I have to use 4G. So I should make my home wi-fi a little more reliable. PTA banned cordless phones having DECT, 5 GHz as one of the mobile operator complained having interference with its licenced spectrum, plz keep that in mind
