OP's note:

2023 marks thirty years since I left Pakistan. It was also 30 years between 1947 to 1977. This probably means that it is time for me to move on to the future completely since my ties with Pakistan have grown increasingly tenuous and what once was no longer exists.

I have already given up on PDF, the only other forum that I used to participate in actively. This thread will probably be my last on PW. I hope to see it through to the end of this year.
