Very high Tyre pressure in new Honda city

Dear All

I took delivery of my new Honda City Aspire 1.5 MT this month. After driving it a bit I was very disappointed that the ride was very stiff and every jump, cateye, pothole just rattled the car. I started thinking that I had made a mistake in buying it.

Today I thought maybe I should get the tyre pressure checked and I was shocked to see that the pressure in each tyre was very high. In front tyres it was 50 and in rear it was 47. I had them deflated to 32 in front and 30 in the rear. This has me the Car a lot softer and cabin is a lot more quieter.

Is this high tyre pressure done on purpose for some reason if so please let me know or has this happened to just me?

Yes in new tyres pressure is usually kept around 45 so that tyres get into shape... after some driving its advised to lower it to recommended pressure.

They shld hv fixed this before handing over the keys
Keep tire pressure as mentioned on door panel
N pressure gauges vary pump to pump n few of thm r really off

Ok. Thanks. I had already driven around 200km before I had the tyre pressure lowered. Hope this did not damage the suspension

Yes or at least they should have told me about it so I could have gotten it lowered sooner.

When I got my tyres changed the guy filled it with high pressure and told me to lower it after 30-40km driving... did same and had no issues since 2 years passed... tyres still look new as couple of months used.

Currently front tyres pressure is 32 but they look like they do not have enough air in them

I have only driven it 300 kms (only in Lahore city)and the meter shows an average of 13.2 km/l

thats cool. im also planning to book 1.5 prosmatic. change your tyre to continental you'll more then happy

This is normal practice followed at the factory. They overinflate the tires in order to prevent damage if the vehicle is parked for couple of days.

Also the tire pressure according to door side sticker for new city is 32 psi in all 4 tires.
