I have driven VIGO 2006 auto tranny alot....

its road grip is not good
brake sucks all time
but huge acceleration
consumption is 8-11 km/ltr
comfort is almost 0....... a real cocky drive......uncomfortable

don't know about PRADO but assume it better as driven land cruiser... way better in comfort and so does think baby prado of it will be a good run but still 99 or 2000 model suck in looks while VIGO has a cool image.

If you want a family Car Then go for Prado and If you want to go for "Shashkay" then go for Vigo!

Vigo is a good option for off road adventures. If u have low budget then go for it.

Brother go for Vigo diesel 3.0L d4d. i have vigo its is best choice. mae nae 1998 model ke prado bhe 2 year tak istamal ke..... but beleive me vigo is much better then that old prado.
The VIGO s an awsome would reccomend to anyone great vehicle solid realiable great for work. it drives like a car has the modt loading space to any pickup on the market if you want a good quality pickup then buy a Vigo.quick loads of power and best of all good fuel economy.

I own an 07 Hilux Vigo 3.0L D4D(2010 import) . Very happy with it, considering it replaced a Landcruiser Prado 2000. Loads of power, comfort and good looks. interior is great and wood trim adds atouch of class . Much better looking than a old Prado. I have been studying the various specifications and decided on the top of the range model with Manual gear All the reviews I've read are positive.
The ABS brakes work fairly good.Off road the 4x4 has handled all the conditions put before it, very well. It does get quite bumpy in the back seats without a load though,Be warned, it has a lot of power and a light back end. It is very easy to swing the back out on slippery roads or gravel.

Go for vigo with manual transmission.. Powerful, comfortable، exellent off roader, with good fuel eco.
Kept a 2000 AT prado but i liked vigo more than it. Interior of prado is so so.

i had a 98 prado, 08 prado vx, 09 Vigo.
vigos interior is not good...... it comes with a corolla style steering wheel... it isnt spacious or comfortable for long routes... prado is good for family use as well as long trips...

Question is 98 shape prado vs 05 vigo. i agree that 08 Prado is much better then Vigo but old shape prado (1995-2002) interior is not good then 2005 Vigo interior.

I dont agree with you.. Prado's only front 2 seats are comfortable for long routes. Believe me.. rear seats aren't much comfortable. I checked both cars on long route. Vigo impressed me alot.

i have had the pleasure of owning both the 2000 model prado and the 2005 vigo,. The prado has a great drive, great breaking and maintenance isnt an issue. The vigo however was a pain in the ***, breaking is an issue and you have to be a little careful during turning due to the weight distribution ( front heave rear light). i sold my prado and moved to the vigo regret it.

The vigo i had an a couple of other people i had kept having problems due to the engine and the fuel available in pakistan, other members will be able to shed light on it.

I would suggest go for the prado 2000 model Tz if you are looking to keep the car for a few years, the vigo is a fashion statement right now and will lose its value soon . ( thats my opinion)

in your case i think tires are problum . changed the tires, the truck is too light. Obviusly with 150 kg in the bed the things are different ..

The ABS brakes work fairly good, but take a bit of getting used to. They are definitely not racing brakes. They will pull you up reasonably quickly and still let you have steering,Sometimes they feel like they won’t stop in time, but so far they have not failed to do the job.
About Engine... Ikd engine is much better then old TEC. Problum is that there were no low sulphur diesel available in Pakistan. its same issue for prado diesel too.But if you use any synthetic engine oil with API CF grade for (diesel engines including those using fuel with over 0.5% weight sulfur)
and ACEA grade B3/B4 (for For direct injection diesel engines High performance and extended drain), you never feel any problum .Now these oils available in market. "Shell helix ultra 5w-40" is a good choice for Vigo engine and also good for new turbo chaged petrol engine too.
