i agree with you 1hundred percent, i actually dont agree with engine swaps, but mine is getting on in age even though i only hava genuine 170K on the clok.
id rather not mess up my car for racing, but making it a "sleeper" is tempting:)
anyways...sami...plz feel free man...n id LOV guidance for my car..its my 1st EFI hi-po engine... ive always been in2 carbed cars....

@Libra / Mohsin this BMW Belong to my brother in law his name is Aveash the car was parked in a building on Hill Park and is still with him. The car is under restoration the car is in DHA now.

I try to share whatever (limited) knowledge I have with other members especially if they're willing to listen. I see what you mean about being a carby guy. For me, it's like chocolate for a weight-watcher. Even though I work on fairly high tech stuff, it's the simple twin, twin-barrel carby, twin cam engine that really wakes up my soul. Listen to an old Escort Mexico or a Lancia or Alfa driven in anger to see what I mean.

For me, this thread has been a must read. This and that of Rehman Bhai "spitfire". For classic car nuts, this is as good as it gets. I hope that in the future, us 20-somethings will continue to carry this thing on with new ideas and vigour.

TODAY'S ACTIVITY - GOT RID OF THE TR 6 - MY ELECTRICIAN TOOK IT FOR HIS YOUNGER BROTHER WHO IS VERY KEEN TO PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD.....TR 4 HAD TO GO AS WELL TO CLEAR THE SPACE.....NEUROSURGEON NEEDS TO PICK IT UP SOON......FROM KHAN MOTORS AS MY ELECTRICIAN HAS EYES FIXED ON THAT ONE TOO. i HAD TO CLEAR SPACE TO MAKE WAY FOR SOME LONG DUE EXTENSION TO MY CHILDRENS' ROOMS

do you know how much duty (%age) will i have to pay when importing parts, perhaps engine rebuild kits or carb and intake kits?

I always get my parts delivered in Dubai to save the hassle of Pak Customs etc. mjabbasi (Moin)normally gets his parts through airmail parcel directly to his address. He is quite happy with the process and has imported a lot of parts for his t-bird and Lincoln. Let me have your number and I 'll ask Moin to call you

so what you mean is that these heavy parts if airmailed (basically fed-ex or ups etc) to my address, i wouldnt have to pay any duty? the package weighs around 107lbs

and my no. is 0300-8472753 and my name is wajid.

no, you 'll have to pay duty. Whatever you order thru courier will be delivered to the Customs and you 'll be contacted by an import/export agent who 'll help you clear the stuff after paying duty ( I dont know how much. It used to be 40% of the C&F value). If you have it posted through general post office, GPO pakistan will contact you once they receive the parcel and you 'll be charged duty.....I think Moin paid 3000 odd for a carb he got thru GPO...

dude..i KNo wat u mean....hada 74 rolla..coupe wid dual carbs..had put in a 5k(toyota 1.5 litr) motor with the dual carby set up....n had my share of burnouts
plus my uncle owns a fiat 124 spider conv. 18 liter twin cam dual carb......
