great to see u here. I agree with all u have said.....knowing the kind of prices people expect these days.....I thought the guy would want a 100,000 for this Austin....but u r right about it being half the worth once its restored....unfortunately not many cars available in Pakistan so gotta take whats available.

that kombi van looks in great shape. do you know wheather its been restored recently in pakistan? one family car? recently aquired? etc? apologies about the questions, but its rare to see the older kombis in top notch conditions these days in pakistan. i see from the number plate that its a karachi registered car.

and how about some more pictures, interior, engine, etc.

haha. the young chaps seem to getting festive with the cars paint scheme.

I seriously doubt that it's been restored. At best it's in original condition with paint hastily thrown on. Take a look at the blisters on the roof (especially the edges), and at the front just above the bumper. It may be that the photo may be messed up a bit though...

Maybe Asad Ishaque could shed some light on this?

I WAS VERY HAPPY TO SEE THIS PONTIAC BACK ON THE ROAD....I USED TO OWN IT 20 YEARS AGO AND SOLD IT FOR A PALTRY 17,000 AS NEEDED MONEY TO PAY BILLS. THIS CAR THEN WAS VANDALISED FOR PARTS, ROTTED AND BECAME A HUNTING GROUND OF RATS ETC. HATS OFF TO THE NEW OWNER WHO HAS DONE A FANTASTIC JOB. HERE ARE TWO PICS, ONE TAKEN AT SAMAD'S YARD 3 YEARS AGO AND ONE TAKEN LAST SUNDAY AT OUR SHOW.

i wouldnt disagree with you. maybe the people doing what theyre doing on the car is that paint job which looks a bit shabby, the kombi looks in good shape nonetheless. or atleast it looks that way in the 2 pictures that have been put up. would be interesting to hear from KAG and asad. waiting on some more pictures.

Assalam o allikum all!

i've recently acquired a morris mini minor wor whatever remains of it,with the intention to restore it to it's deserved condition.

A friend of mine bilaltq suggested this thread and ive been tryign to come onlien regularly but alas studies don't always permit,

this is a call to all those out there who could help me with parts/bodywork guidance etc,all help guidance and yes criticism is valued.i'll be posting pictures soon!!

here are some pictures of my mini

i think it'd be better if i list all the mishaps(alterations) that have been done so that valuable time is saved,
1.front grill has been removed
2.bonnet has been cut to accomodate replacement grill
3.turn lamps of a suzuki fx have been used
4.rear lights unfortunately belong to a suzuki bolan dabba
5.door handles belong to 96 corolla
6.the boot cover has been changed
7.as you can see teh suspension is a bybrid mix of many raising teh cars height to lets say a suzuki dabba
8.teh engine has been replaced with an 800 cc suzuki motor coupled with an auto transmission.
9.the floor needs replacement and the back seat has been burtally cut out.
10.the interior is non existent(if you dont count using raxine to cover everything and make it look like a cupboard.

i was gifted with these alterations by the previous owner,the tale continues but i'm short of time right now,hope to hear from you guys esp mohsin sb

you have a project man! its doable....get a good denter and show him another mini so that he may copy the bonnet et. Parts are cheap in UK. Get them online, things like new grille, lights etc.

a few issues i had were,
firstly i am in lahore and there is a flood of supposed "good" denters around,i have a trusted one too and though he charges teh right moeny i don't know if he's capable of restoring teh many mutilations done to this beauty,and i don't want to experiment hit and trial so if possible do suggest someone(i'm sure you have someone in mind)

secondly ive seen two mini's runing around,both of them significantly restored but none of tehm concourse taht is completely original,if you know of anyone owning an original or authentic restoration,is it possible for me to contact them?
