Seems like you had fun. Nice! Do post some photos if you can.

If you're doing a resto for monetary reasons, I'd personally not put my hard earned money into it, as it probably wouldn't be worth much even if it's mint. If it's got sentimental value, by all means, go for it, like Spectra did with his Corolla. It had been in his family for ages, and he redid the car properly.
I'd personally try to hunt down a Coupé version, especially the one that came with a rotary, and rebuild that. It'll have more value when it's finished.
Other than that, it's upto you to decide if you really think it's worth it. I'm one of the biggest fans of Japanese and small European classic cars. If it's an American car, I'd like something small, absolutely rippling with muscle. Even if it's non-original. Think along the lines of a Chevy II with a 454 or a monster 572 c.i. Big Block Chevy motor, Corvette rear suspension, uprated brakes and suspension, full roll cage, and a good six-speed manual and you've got my dream American machine.
Hope my rants have helped you a bit, just discard the last couple of sentences, they came out automatically...
Cheers!
