As far as teh Alfetta is concerned... the only concern I shall have is with the body frame. If I get it at a reasonable price I can get it done... I know someone in the UK who is willing to supply me with a GTV6 stripped down and crated.

The rest is time and patience and not a lttle money.

The Mini is threatening to come to paint... just an update on the last fender left for denting... some pics

arif... certainly yes but competition with Charas I have... the denter has employed this young man to do the job ... he is called changa.... but I call him bheira... he got married and has woman ie MIL and DIL ( Mother in law... daughter in law) trouble.... so competition.

But the job with the window winders and door handles and locks is an excellent one... hats off to them.

What do you think about colour??? everyone does red or orange or metallic blue or black so I have thought of

Mohsin... Prof Waseem met you the other day... you sounded depressed... he said.... can we help? I did not have a long conversation with him ... will do that on the course tomorrow morning.

Dont worry I am thinking ( not too seriously I hope) to sell off the rotaries and get a SMART instead also. And I am someone who promised to get a V8 the day petrol hit 100 rs per litre..not so many pages ago.

impressed with Dr. Waseem's observation as yes, I am a bit down and out these days but was quite ok and chirpy when I met him as had some car friends over as well. Thanks for your offer to help but Inshallah will come out of my issues soon. This color will look good on the Mini.

the Mini is parked just outside a battery shop on the link road between sh faisal and shaheed-e-millat road...the guy wants a lot of money for this car. Chevy I dont know...the green one is a Hupmobile owned by KC - your pic was perhaps taken on main Gizri Avenue heading towards Sunset Blvd. probably heading towards my house.

To Neuro and Other Mini Lovers,
Friends restoring Mini in Pakistan esp in Lahore is not a easy job.I had a Mini 1275 GT sports in 1988-89 when I was in 3rd yr medical college and most of my time was spent in the workshops.They have an inherent problem with their clutch plate.A gap develops in the cluth and pressure plates what I remember,which is very difficult to fix up. and most of the time 2nd gear stucks up.Only Old Mechanic by the name of David living in Old Muslim town was able to fix it after much difficulty.So be aware of that.,plus for mechanical parts there is a corner shop near KEMC Nila gumbad next to jullahandar motors he had lots of parts and was able to help me.The price of these parts was high for me being a student.
I was forced to sell that beauty as my dad warned me to choose between medicine or mini.(for girls that car was a big eye catcher in lahore in late 80s)
Plus I had few responses for Merc.Anybody else interested in selling a merc 1965-74,please email me.

VCCCP RALLY ON 14TH AUGUST STARTING FROM MY HOUSE AT 4 PM. WE'LL REACH ZAMZAMA ROD AROUND 4.30 WHERE THE CARS WILL BE DISPLAYED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS (nawab restaurant parking)

COME AND SEE THE 20 ODD CARS THAT WE EXPECT TO HAVE THERE.

its a loosely arranged rally....most of the members have more than one car each....for our annual show, we make an effort to get every car in but this is a small event and each owner will be bringing in 2-3 cars only. Imad is bringing 3 cars, I am bringing 3 cars, General Ghazi is bringing 3 cars, Wahid is bringing 1 car, Razi and Adil will bring 3-4 cars etc. etc. Maybe 25 cars altogether

Hi.... the Mini is in Lahore. I am having enough trouble getting it done here. Pindi would be awful. There is a fellow in Pindi with a couple of dismantled Minis and 850 engines. Mechanic not interested in selling.

Mohsin... there was talk of a Triumph Stag on the thread many moons ago. Whats the story with that one?

Though, I am sure you will be able to get the shade of the paint matched by the so called paint experts (your competitors) spraying the cars of innocent owners with poor quality fillings / paint, please allow me to say, the desired color might not suit the handsome old man driving the Mini. So, I take the liberty to suggest as follows, thus maintaining the originality:

As far as I remember, this shade of “white” is one of the originals……
