for the moment some pictures of the Z from this morning....finally got time to go... The denter working on the min i seems to have gone back to talking to the fairies... one front fender left and that for the last two weeks. Screaming fit would have to come up some time this week.

The Z seems to be coming along nicely. Has it been in a wreck? (I think I've asked this already...)

The Mini looks quite menacing with the wide wheels. May I suggest a set of foglights and a grille guard? à la Monte Carlo.

sami-voodoo The Z should be ready to paint in one moth... the left side is almost complete apart from the box section sills which the Chota is holding up...

The car had never been in a major accident but over the years all dents had just been knocked in even more and then filled in with filler and just painted over. Other parts had been repaired poorly and water had pooled in various places and the metal rusted through... The denting job alone is costing me about 70k..no wonder I dont have spending money....I am also getting a sandblaster made to remove the new rust where hands with sandpaper cant get to. Also getting Hammerite products and Waxoyl for the rust proofing.

This restoration as well as that of the Miini and the alfa are going to be done seriously...just as well I have experience with the Fiats and the Morris.

Monte style.... will have to get is painted red with a black or a white roof but yes... four Lucas lamps.... in front. The bar to carry the lamps is available.

challenger denting is almost complete, all the floors are replaced, both sides are completed , denter will start working on the roof, sheetmetal was very rusty so have to change some panels, I think the bare metal body was in the open air for long time otherwise american metal is resistant to rust

I am thinking for a sandblaster too, mohsin have a gun so I have to buy a big compressor and some other tools, I was reading a magazine and I think new technology for rustproofing is zinc phosphate, have to research on it, I think I am too brave to restore the challenger

are you thinking of sandblasting the body?? Don't. You can ruin the body. It is ok to get it done abroad as they are professionals, know exactly what blasting material to use, with what pressure etc. If done Pakistani style, it can warp the bigger body panels and can leave them with pin holes all over...it is ok if you are prepared to get new body panels from USA. Zinc Phosphate is another name for galvanizing ( I think ).... thats a good process but I don't think you can find big enough tanks to get the body panels done. Go for the normal manual sanding down to bare metal and apply primer. There's a very good primer available in Dubai which is a rust converter, i.e. you clean the rust as much as you can and apply that primer, it converts the remaining rust into a strong bond between the body and the primer. Sorry for the long answer....

I will not use sandblaster on the challenger, I want to clean my triumph with very fine sand which i can get from sea side, the iron particles will be too lethal for this process, you are right zinc phosphate cant be done here, I think within few weeks he will complete the denting, so the painter will start working on it, while the car will be on jacks for suspension work

can you tell me the primer name so I can get it,

thanks for the pics i have these on my comp as well didnt know this is the same caddy though wow looks nothing like what it did then .humm so a friend of yours owns it then i could get in to my hands (evil grin) that is if your willing to help me out in getting it , mohsin bahi any good news for me regarding your ex caddy sedan deville. hehe wouldent dare going thru 280 pages again done it twice already .

cant find the kit any where so far will check a couple more places comming weekend . can you ask the person who told you there made in china what company makes them or any details what so ever that will make it alot easyer.
