Sameed.... was too tired ....and his comeuppance was the tears he was shedding.... he had paid 20 k for the car ...a nd got less than half the amount for the iron that he got form it...and he started crying when I told him I would have paid double the amount he paid for it.

The Datsun was in better shape but not much... some photos of the present state. The bonnet has to be made... when the file was taken to it it simply came out in holes... you can see whole sections having been replaced by the young denter... the guy is doing a good job... i have promised him the alfa contract as well ...

I dont know the kabaria who scrapped the thunderbird....but I would like to find out... then I would make him a second you know what...

The thunderbird is a mystery I would like to pursue... when and where. was it scrapped,,,, is it perchance hidden in some garage still because the present keeper wants to keep it from Mohsin who is the rightful owner etc..... like a recently discovered 540k in Lithuania.......it may turn up.. let me work on it....

I am maybe romanticising it a bit too much.

I recently heard from someone that my/OL t-bird is still intact...try and find out. I dont want it but still for the sake of the car. Look at this Alfa that a friend had bought from Peshawar 20 years ago. He brought it to my house and I partially restored it for him i.e. body was dented, painted and trim was installed...It was a complete car with engine dismantled for overhauling. he sold the car in this state to another friend who unfortunately has ruined the car. Note the bamboo pole going thru the middle of the car to support the broken structure.

some more on the 540K. When Zaman sb. got there with his father, the welder was breaking the Roots Kompressor with a chisel and a hammer. At that point the body was still intact and they begged him to sell it to them but he said Vedara wants the whole thing in pieces. The Vedara actually got rubbed the wrong way by Lala who wanted the car back and claimed that only he could fix the car. Vedara thinking that Lala used him to take money ruined that car to hurt Lala....

I had this 1958 180 D for a while and sold it to a Kabari for 6,000/- in 1992. Didn't have parking space and car was too gone for a feasable retsoration. No friend was interested to pick it up either.

The other pic shows a 1955 MG TF now with Rafi and a black MB 300 B Saloon (Brig. Husky's car - famous Polo player). This MB is now in Lahore in Brown color.

saw this '56 chevy out side the police station I'd been seeing it every day in my early childhood as my school would be nearby...
its said to have been held by the Lahore police in some Drug case..... its been standing there for ages.... but as we all know if its upto the lahori police its never going to get solved!

oh pics of that 56 would be great the pics posted by sypher are of a 55 belair almost every thing interior wise is original iv been after it for a year now but to no sucess hope some caring person gets there hands on it

write to the CM, you might get a response. He is known to have responded to people's complaints / requests. Write to him that the car is a collectible and is country's heritage on wheels and should not be wasted. Write to him that you will not sell the car till the case is over and that you will bring the car back if required.

That Green Chevy parked in Lahore,is in Gulberg behind main boulvard Macdonalds,some yrs ago I tried to trace the owners,the origional owner and this car were involved in a crime,probaly murder,the car is in 'Poilce Superdari' /custody and the owner has absonded,so its kept as part of police investigation for nearly 25-yrs,it was in a good shape about 10yrs ago.
I hope somebody get it on 'Zati Superdari' as permitted by law and restore it.

and i thought people dint notice..thanx bro..for the kind words..iv been a silent observer, follwo the thread everyday. am in constant touch with safeershah and mohsin bhai over SMS....
miss hanging out every sunday at mohsin bhai's place wen his mustang was being put together earlier this year,have been in islamabad since march now..i hope i can be bak in khi soon...miss it terribly even though rawalpindi is my hometown......
i came across somepiks of my family with classics bak in the day..will scan and put them up soon
noticeable amongs them are
a 1961 Ford Consul 375 deluxe(my nana's)
a 1964 Chevy impala (again my nana's but official)
my father's 1958 MB 180-D
imsifting for more...and its just so exiting.
