@samhassnn - personally i have seen 1 Vincent Rapide and 1 Vincent Black Shadow. Both in Lahore..mid 90s.
The Black Shadow was part of a larger collection of vintage cars and motorcycles..

I know of atleast 4 Indian Chiefs, only 1 in super condition, rest dismantled / incomplete. Vincent HRD in Lahore owned by Omar Leghari, Rafi has a '49 Harley Hydra Glide 1200 CC, a 1941 Harley WL45 with sidecar, 1942 Indian Chief, a 1937-8, Indian Scout 750 CC and a 1961 Triumph Thunderbird.

I have 3 Triumphs, a '39 Tiger 100, a '49 Speed Twin and a recently acquired '52 Thunderbird....also a 1941 BSA M20 with side car ..........I have seen a one owner pre-1920's IVY in Karachi.....I guess thats it for exotic bikes....

my father owned an aeriel square four bak in the 50s or early 60s if im not wrong...owned it for abt 5-6 years after wich he bought a BSA....before the aeriel he had a truimph, i presume...my father was a serious biker in his heyday..only came onto cars after he married..which was very late:)

he was posted in bahawalpur during the time and later in lahore..has fond memories of both cities

im afraid i have no pictures..but he talks fondly abt the aeriel....will definitely ask him about more

good to know that Pakistan also has some of these beauties .just imagining that there must be a vincent black shadow , brough superior or a Vincent black knight waiting to be discovered in some ones store . i recall seeing a couple of vintage motorbikes at a relative’s place this was back in 1996 as we kids were playing around i went to hide in a store low and behold were about 6-7 motorbikes just lying there uncared for but in absolute beautiful rustic condition I didn’t give it much attention back then but now as i know a bit more about motorbikes i would say there was a 1920s triumph with a drum type headlight that was meant to be turned on with oil rather than a bulb . also saw 2 Harleys a triumph and a 80s Kawasaki which was an eye sore after looking at the others

un luckily my dadas and nanas all the way through the extended family are anti motorbike , when rei took out my father’s c50 he told me the story of how he first tried to persuade my dada to buy him a Honda 175 which was apparently the big thing back then but in the end he got the c50 .

bikes are big time fun....not many Aerial Square4's came to Pakistan and one got exported to Germany n the 80's along with a 1950's Harley Davidson Duo glide 1200 CC

i just spoke to my father about his aeriel..

he had it in 1962..was in lahore...a year into its ownership..one of the cylinder heads cracked..it was repaired..as there were no replacement parts...according to my dad..the bike "never receovered"....and so a year later it was sold...to the very mekanic who fixed it..its a 47 year old tale...of which my father still remembers every meticulous detail....will make sure i get more memories out and post them here..he still is a very avid 79 year old biker alhamdolilah!

he still recalls very fondly..that it was a"an 11 horsepower" monster..11 horses means 1.1 lters..if im not wrong..right mohsin bhai?

furthermore..one of my chachas had an aeriel twin that he used 4 a good 10 years..and it never missed a beat.....

any info on the aeriel twin mohsin bhai?

get more stories out of your dad....always good to hear such stories. The Aerial Twin could be a 1100 cc fom the '30's. The only thing I know of it is thru a small advertisement in a bike magazine for a 1937 Aerial Twin 1100 cc. It was a low rider and a beautiful bike.

@samhassn I know these bikes very well. The owner is a very dear friend and the Harley was offered to me first and was dlivered at my place but I was short of money. It was sold for 9,000/- as t was a basket case with some major components missing, the owner, a rather private person has done a very good job on it. The Indian is also from Karachi and I was present when it was bought from a house in PECHS. It was in good running condition when bought. Now the bikes are in Lahore...

talking of bikes and paricularly Aerial and Harley, here are two very old gem of pics sent to me by Omar Farooq who is an engineer by profession and hails from Lahore. The bikes shown were owned by his grandad (also in the pic) and then his father (also in the pic)...

@mohsin bhai; the twin was 6.6 horsepower..which meant 650cc

the square4 was 11 horsepower...thats wat my father says..plus the twin was from the mid 50s..n not the 30s as he recalls...the square 4 from the same era as well..

OL is a hoarder / drawing room enthusiast......I can't think otherwise. I am in touch with him - he was there at our show in Feb this year.

I just read in on eof my books on British bikes - Aerial Square Four was launched in September 1936 and continued till end of 1950's. It was 995 CC. Perhaps the adv I saw in a magazine must have been a Sq Four 1000 Cc not 1100 cc. The only twin referred to was a 1945 Aerial Fieldmaster....did you show him the pics of the Aerial I posted.
