indeed....i have my a levels next month which have kept me away (not that i post very frequently)..... the thread has not bought up anything that really really interests me these days. So how is Indiana coming along? Any nice Americana you see there?

indiana is going good so far dont know if its good or bad but not too many classics around the town where i am but one does see more than what im used to seeing in lahore saw only one 55 chevy which was just great and saw quiet a few chevy stepside trucks and 40s fords by barn sides saw a cord which was up and running and a couple more random rides . do let me know if you need any thing for the mustang.

The chevys belong to Dr Shahzad,when i took these pics they were working on this new engine they put in the car,recently their mechanic was telling me tht they are planning to repaint the blue one.

Those cars belong to Mr Mudassar,they also have a Jaguar Mark vii and many other cars rusting in there warehouse, I think there is a diesel engine in the chevy in the pic.Tthey also have a few others cars at their home including ex Yahya khan Mercedes.I have posted those pics in the previos pages.

Usually Mr Mudassar dont allow to take pics of their car,so i hope u have askd him before taking those pics and posting them here, alhough he isnt member here so he cant knw abt these pics but stil......

speaking of hillmans it reminds me that i saw a 50s hillman minx in a pretty sad shape about a year ago it was pretty complete interms of engine and interior but needed alot of tlc the car could be had for the price of dirt as it belongs to the state bank and i bet they wont be asking a stupid price for it here are some pics again.

A friend bought this Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 3.5 yesterday and brought it to my home on a truck. I have never seen a car rust like this before.....my phone battery was low otherwise pics of the engine bay and the boot would have shown the horror story. My advice to my friend was that this is too rare a car (in this part of the world) to be left to rot and that it must be saved. WORK Starts tomorrow.

Dear Mohsin Bhai,

Finally after pondering for a year or so i have decided to post on this thread.

First things first. Mohsin bhai and the gang at VCCP, hats off to you for sharing your knowledge and help to other enthusiasts.

Since childhood i have been in love with the classic cars and like most others did not have resorces to get one either.

I managed to acquire an old favoritre of mine nearly 2 years ago. Its a Morris Minor 1000, model 1971 (last year of production) and a deluxe model. The guy i bought it from had it parked under the sun for a few years. The car got a paint job in 1988 (original BMC black color) and everything in the car is original except the fog lights i have installed on it. The car is in a very good condition and i have found a great Morris mechanic to look after it on regular basis. I do plan to put a new engine/over haul the present one so i can take the car for a trip to Nathiagalli from Lahore this summer.

Am posting a few pics of the car too.

Would appreciate any information regarding procuring engine and other parts in Pakistan.

thanks for your kind words, Morris looks pretty good and I am glad that you are planning a long trip in it. I hope that the engine on this car is original. If yes, then don;t ever think of changing it. You may have it overhauled but keep the car away from Japanese parts/modifications. Also remove that Suzuk gearbox console. Morris is one of the easiest car to maintain and restore and parts supply is not bad n Pakistan. Shafiq of Perfect Motors in Karachi has every mehanical part that you may need. His no. s 2733882. Calling him will not help as he needs to see the part sample to get a new one out. Good luck.
