@Experts,

can anybody let me know that details about Merc 1979 w123 type 240d. I am just planing to buy this one and would i be able to get stock parts of this car? and what would be a nearst possible budget required to restore it to original position?

It has a good engine almost 90% strengh and have a low milage on clock. but the body is rusty and interior also needs alot of jobs to do.. pls see below pics.

Furthermore, what is the appropriate price to buy it in this condition.. and anything else i should know before i buy it and later on at the time of restoration.

The chevy truck looks hot . Is the original engine still around? Kindly start a separate thread for step by step restoration details and pictures so we all can enjoy the restoration steps and learn a thing or two from it.

money tight these days so will go slow on the truck..original engine and gear is intact and with me. Mustang got hit bad and is under repairs for over a month so eating up money. Healey parts also very expansive, just got a handful of not very important parts and paid 40,000/-. Need to fix y Citroen also and then the split bug is anxiously waiting for work to start on it. Got my hands full.

Idea !
VCCP clan at Karachi can create a pool of few classics and can start a classic car rental company. Which can rent these classics for advertisements, photo shoots, Dramas, Movies,Weddings. Etc. to generate some extra cash flow for these beauties and will help per mote the classic car passion among people also.

Don't think that's a very good idea. These are classics and somehow people don't show the care & attention needed to handle them. You give them for an ad or drama and it comes back as a drama to you.
Unless its driven by one's own driver, there's no guarantee how'd they'd be used.
One ends up using the rental money + more in getting things back in shape.

the car looks pretty badly beat. i've jsut restored my dads W123 for myself (from shahnawaz) and it was super clean to start with, even then i forked out 2 lacks for minor denting, painting and new bumpers (front and rear). in this condition i'd not offer more than 3 for it and in my eyes even that is too much for a VERY early W123. however if it is mechanically sound then restoring it is worth it, but do note that parts for early W123's are ultra rare in PK.

I am Real Admirer Of All these Cars. I Dont Want to Spoil this Thread. I am posting a ride, which I dont own, Neither the owner knows me. Owner is A influential Political Guy. I Know the Manager owner so discussed this car. He said he is working their for last 15 years & car is standing their. 100% Restored & Is in Very Mint Condition.

@timmy - there are plenty of chrome walas in Katachi who do a pretty decent job but the chrome doesnt last much as these guys here dont follow the correct process to save money.

@au - yes....bad one at that. Being fixed and inshallah will come out better - details when we meet.

Top image shows car in London, when new. Second and third images show "remains" in dire need of restoration (note the retractable step plates in lieu of runningboards; also fancy cabinetry and adjustable armchair seating in rear compartment). Where is the car today???

Today i saw Mohsin Bhai's FIAT 500 L (Lusso), it was looking very nice & cute
(may be newly painted).
Everyone in the traffic was getting wonder to see the car. I think it was a new entry in his fleet but it was one of the old member.

The v16 Cadillac is still very much with the Nawab of Bahawapur family and still jacked up in the garage as seen in your pic. They only have one V16 Cad. Quiet a few of their cars are in Karachi with different family members and 4-5 got sold and now in private hands. The RR u posted is now with Hashwanis and on display at PC Lahore.

thanks - My Fiat 500 is in regular / daily use for the last 5 years. It may look shiny but the paint is a shoddy DIY job I did some years ago at home. It badly needs some denting and repainting. Planning to go to Shershah in that in a while...

Dont buy this rotten Merc, You can get a nice 123 much better from this one and in totally running and fine condition in 2.5 or 3, moreover Benz part is easily available from Peshawar in very economical price,(Not sure about very old models).
