Yes i still have the morris, though haven't started the restoration yet. got a couple of projects on my hands and will restore it after i'm done with those.

Interesting question you raise about the owners being annoyed at the pictures being taken... depends if they think this is an invasion of their privacy they should sue.... and close Pakwheels down.. why not sue for the Internet to be taken down as well.... facebook, Youtube, Google...the whole bloody lot....

If the pictures are taken at a place frequented by the public in full view of the world the owners have nothing to complain about... if someone has climbed a wall to take the pics in a private enclosed off residence then there may be a legal point.

The final thing is ..........if any owners are so touchy about the vehicles then they should keep them under wraps... BURQA ....gents. NOT DRIVE THEM.. and many people do just that.

I had an interesting episode with a gentleman about an MGB GT that I wanted to buy a few years ago... bad condition... basically becoming a wreck....and the reply I got was that one does not sell ones wife... my reply was that one does not beat ones wife either....but I SUPPOSE SOME PEOPLE DO BOTH OR ONE OF THESE.

There may be no point about this whole forum thread if we were to take permission for the photos from everyone.

Its a shame to see these cars in such dilapidated state, not even a simple cover to keep them safe from the corrosive atmosphere in karachi. Just goes to show how much these 'possessive' owners care about the cars.

I fully agree with what you've said, about the owners itch when something in plain sight is SEEN by someone. If you don't want people to see how badly you've kept them, don't leave them out in plain sight.

The MGB GT that you mention, i had a run in with it at my regular workshop and the response was similar. It has its original drive train but the paintjob is terrible ( light shade of blue attempted in metallic colour) and the interior needs a complete overhaul. Same car?

if u have to take pictures of these cars , the owners would allow u specially as it was done in this case as well, and it was requested that kindly keep them to urselves and not just put them up on the internet where everyone asks where the car is , can he sell it (like i did myself),

its thier own choice whether they want to ruin the car and let it rust or park them at home, but once they know that I have a picture and they just expect that atleast the pictures I took are not going to be leaked, they are safe,,,,,,,,,,, but as these pics are seen by them , they get angry at the person who took them as a trust not to upload them anywhere

Everyone seems to be discussing the the T-Bird and Comaro pics .... here's what I think.

I would agree with Wasif to the extent that if the pictures were taken with owners permission on condition that these would not be uploaded on web then that should have been respected.

If the pics were taken by an enthusiast who gained access to the car without the owner being aware then post it on the web by all means....like neurosurgeon said, this thread will be pointless if we start taking permissions from owners to post pics of their cars.

Classic and vintage cars are heritage on wheels. Owners should have a big heart and let people enjoy seeing them, in whatever condition. These cars are in pretty decent condition and a little bit of tlc will make them look great. I hope that the owner would soon take measures to put them on jacks to save tires and suspension and also covers them so that they have some protection.

It is a pity that this red T-Bird has lived most of its life unloved and out of action.

Work on the Split window bug has started....working Sundays only to control pace suitable to my pocket. Here are some pics:

when bought followed by denting work.....you can also see Dr. VW Beetle the undoubtable Dr. Asad Ishaq with some body parts. Note the original condition of the rear mudguard underside and the seam that attaches to the body...this car hasnt seen much torch in it's life

thanks buddy. I am still after the previous owners life to dig out parts. He handed over the bumpers last week and yesterday gave me the pope nose and rear lights. Door handles are missing and so are some other small parts like the horn push etc.

Mjabbasi mentioned taking these with a cell phone when no one was looking, more like sleuthing rather than permitted photography. Otherwise yes, it would be a breach of trust but i dont see that happening here.

Being a classic car owner,the first question most people will ask you is if you want to sell it, i personally think its not too much trouble flexing a few muscles to come up with a polite refusal. As mohsin uncle said, people should have a big heart and let others enjoy what they cherish themselves.

You mentioned their right of ownership and freedom to do as they please, sure, but i have my right to an opinion and i think they could be treated MUCH better. And if the owners are annoyed, its an issue between them and the uploader of the pictures. Using the forum to inform us about their 'annoyance' is out of place and thats what i had a problem with.

Its a shame the rest of us cant do anything but perhaps you can exert some influence to see that these cars are taken care of in a better way?

for 15 years that I pursued this car, I always imagined it black when restored.....now that I have it and have dug out the factory color, I am going to do just that...which is 'Pastel Green L 11'

it was written on it something with a similar meaning of :

""restored in 2008 (i guess) in memory of my beloved parents who owned this car before""

and quite an old person was sitting at the rear seat with a driver wih a berret driving it smoothly

@supersonic. same MGB GT same guy. Safeeshah interestingly same guy you bought the challenger off....and by the way just found some front indicator lenses for the challenger. will post them soon... the round under bumber front valance ones.
