One of the projects that I am working on these days.....
Ford Model A 1929 - engine was overhauled by a mechanic before the car came to me. After completing the body job and bringing the car to the final coat stage, we started the car up and took it for a ride. It wouldnt turn right so we got the steering box fixed....engine was making a racket from the bottom and our suspicion of failed bigend and main bearings was right...engine was dismantled and sent to lathe wala. Since it had babbit pressed main and bigend bearings, it is not everyone's cup of tea to adjust them or replace them. Got that done by a 70 year old lathe wala who claimed that he learned his skill on such engines, got new sleeves done and found the correct 1928 Ford piston rings and gaskits from Perfect Motors.
