no clue - windscreen frame is very 'corvette 58-9', tyres look american style, color is very French....lets see what it turns out to be. I am stumped.

The other car in the B&W picture is an early 50s Vauxhall Velox. Both cars have interesting number plates. Which city were they registered in?
What happened to the Vauxhall Velox in Karachi? Workshop owner had one, as well as Dodge/De Soto station wagon. Mohsin, Alvis? Anyone?
The Lincoln under wraps is just up Mohsins's street! Amazing car any day.

The two tone convetible looks like a Darrin design. Anyone care to add more? Probably VW Karmann Ghia connections...rear wheels slightly toed in, rear bumper and wheel trim very Volkswagen, as is inside rear view mirror..

I know of two Velox's in Khi. One used to be with Late Lala Aziz which is now with Khalid Khattak though I am not sure if it is the same car. I had seen another one in Block 6 PECHS 15-20 years ago. The car was black and in mint condition.

Thanks alot for the info guys. My maternal grandfather used to live in Lahore but from the number plates it seems as if the cars were registered probably in Peshawar. I'm posting another pic of my dad with his car (standing last from left). Do u think its a Vauxhall Velox too (could be coz later on he bought a Vauxhall Victor as well) because the front bumper is a bit different from the Velox posted in the earlier pic although the grill and the rest is very similar.

I have seen 2 lovely Lincoln Continentals 64 or 65 in Islamabad. One was in off-white color with khi registration with a car dealer in Blue Area and the other belongs to my friend's taya - the late Nawab of Dir, in black color, although in mint condition but now rusting at his residence in pindi eversince his son Saleem Khan died. Maybe u must be knowing him romano.

this is a Vauxhall Velox as well. The dipped stripe on the both sides of the bonnet is a Vauxhall trademark. These pics are excellent and i would love to post them on our website i.e. www.vcccp.com if thats ok with you.

@cateyez,yes I have seen the balck Dir car, tho from afar, and it looked sad and neglected. Pity. Dawn is doing a car show on Sat and Sun, lets see what vintage metal turns up..
The Velox pic you posted has a Quetta plate (I think), so its another Vauxhall from yr family collection..

Thanks for up-dating my info regarding Vauxhall Velox. Sure u can post them on the vcccp web-site. However, these cars were once in the family and not anymore as they were sold (except for Zypher which was still around when i was 3-4 and sold afterwards) before I was born.

Excellent observation once again. As my father was posted in Quetta when the Velox arrived, therefore, I suppose thats the rationale behind Quetta registration. Nawab Dir had a lovely Buick 35 as well which is now with Qadeer Khan's son-in-law who also has a Rolls Royce too, once owned by my uncle's friend, the late Jamal Khan.

I wonder if u remember seeing a Rolls Royce or maybe a Bentley outside London Book Company in Kohsar Market in late 70's or early 80's?

All Mr. Sharif needed was a little Shorrock supercharger kit, a shaker hood, whitewalls, fuzzy dice, and it's "Grease" all over again.

Have to say though, he looks rather nice in this photo...

Where is the Dawn classic car show going to take place? Is someone from Islamabad is all set to go there with a digital camera to cover it or i assign my company Photographer for that job.

The Dawn car show will be held at the Islamabad Convention centre this coming Saturday and Sunday. Sad sign of the times; Dog show got a half page ad in the papers, the car show barely a square inch. Oh well, I will be going, as, is hoped, other Isb/Rwp car aficionados.
