portage..whats special on geo tv that the rest of media doesnt have to show?
i actually did some research online and learned that bugti and his political group infact started off with a strong and thoughtful mandate for the people in baluchistan...did good work locally like shcools and stuff but he claimed total ownership of land where the natural gas deposits are...he later told the govt. that he wants a cut out of it cuz it is ancestral land...
what bulls***. cuz there was nothing to prove that that land was his or ancesterial...than he had these guards or group of tribal people providing his security and looting the local communities around the area...specially politicians who ran in some local elections...and story goes on and on.
lets not forget that pakistan is a key ally on this so called war on terrorism (i am against it so dont start ranting on me) and as a result....the whole of the west are looking upon us....we are dependent on US aid and its military support and people like Bugti and others are a nuisance in this regard (human rights..weapons smuggling and more specifically..the control over border with afghanistan)
put all these in front of you...and ask yourself..what is the bigger objective...to appease US and the west...or to appease an old tribal leader like Bugti who is admant not to cooperate with the current government.
Dont blame Musharraf...if there was another person in his spot...he would have done the same.
