wa.wayla qab-az.marg. US VISA stamped over a passport is not a Guarantee that passport holder will be granted an entry in the USA. The immigration officer at port of entry at the arrivals' desk is the authority to grant visa holder an entry or decline. That too for a number of specified days.

B1/B2 holder can stay in US for the number of days specified over the I-94 form, and can apply for extension while in USA, with supporting evidence

Any one knows how to get extended stay approval on a B1/B2 visa? the person needs to stay in US for 8 months for some medical electives. The person hasn't entered in US as of yet. Will it be granted by the immigration officer at the time of entry at the airport?

Yes, when i visited the immigration officer asked me to wait behind pillar after finger print verification. A lady officer took me to another bunch of officers who asked purpose of visit, work, etc for about 15 minutes. Entered answers in system and then stamped 3 months entry. The interesting part is their way of looking at incoming passengers. After this ordeal when I lined up for baggage check, they all kept their heads low and the lady politely said take your bags and "Get the f**k in" :). For all others there was strict bag checking.

lately i have stopped travelling across atlantic over middle eastern carriers as in emirates, gulf air, eithad, qatar airway. I take pacific route using Singapore, Cathay Pacific & Thai all 3 are part of star alliance so the schedules are very flexible. Bit expensive compared to Gulf carriers, but upon arrival over US airports you do not face Humiliation & Grilling which passengers of Gulf Carriers face upon arrival.

I'm a CX Marco Polo member and travelled on Cathay Pacific on a 747. My worry was long flight over Pacific but I coped it with a bulk head seat to move around.

Yes, you enjoy a lot on CX, Thai, Singapore and airports are much nicer. Incheon too. I usually get a 4 days stopover in Bangkok and Hong Kong for refreshing.

Best part about travelling through Abu Dhabi for USA is that customs and immigration is done at Abu Dhabi. Once you reach your destination after a tiring long haul you just collect your baggage and walk out.

I have heard that at the airport there are no immigration officers for the flights from Moscow; its all machine based. A person stamps the passport, that's it, no questions asked.

Could anyone guide for the process of Chinese visa please. My family has been having regular visas since last 8 years since my dad was there. This time my mother and sister need to apply for a visa and want to visit a couple of friends there in beijing but since my dad is no longer there they cant apply for a visa in the same category as before. for a tourist visa they require a group of 5 people and application through a travel agent. on the other hand upon seeking help from travel agents they ask for 20-30k per person which is a lot of fee considering the fact that Chinese visa is free of cost for Pakistani citizens. guidance would be highly appreciated.

the arrivals' gate connected to aircraft are CCTV covered, The Central immigration & homeland security office located somewhere in the building can remotely TAG any passenger from anywhere between arrival gate onwards, can be flushed out for screening by an immigration supervisor prior to immigration counter.

allow me to ask what is making you so confused / irritated / unsure about taking a journey to USA despite having a visa. I can see from the question pattern you have asked over the period of time. You want to visit the US, and at the same time you have a doubt that you may not get an entry, may get declined at port of entry. ?

why you are so scared ? do you plan to dodge and slipaway for good after landing. just a wild card guess
Trust me this does not work anymore specially after bio-metric / eye pattern data on immigration / visa application.

take the flight take the entry enjoy your trip, if entry is declined , to hell with US, whats the big deal with Amreeka man ??

They TAG passengers at departure airports as well. Not just arrivals.

WT*!! I have no concern for the denial of entry or whatever; I am just sharing what I heard like you said there is more hassle for the ME carriers than from the south east Asian carriers. I don't fantasy slipping away in US/UK and doing well already alhamdulillah

The question about extended stay was for one of my relative who is a student and need to stay a bit longer in US.
