i am planing to leave karachi on 18th of may on my civic 94 (dolphin) 1500cc on CNG to reach naran around 23or 24th may , what do you suggest for me about road condition.cng availability after mansehra , hotel charges . waiting for your comprehensive reply.thankyou.

Thanx for the mail. Ur civic will reach to Naran easily if engine & tyres are good. Road till Balakot is excelent. But from Balakot to Naran some patches are good but at a whole it is below average. But if u want to enjoy u have to accept this coz u r there for adventure. Secondly I have seen lot of Cultus, Mehran even one FX in the area of Naran & Kaghan. So don't u worry about ur It will reach there easily. About CNG well it will be available till Mansehra. A fill from Mansehra will take u till Balakot. Get some petrol from Balakot coz beyond that no petrol pump is available till Naran. approx. Rs.1000 is enough from Balakot to Naran & then Balakot. Balance Cng will take u to Mansehra from Balakot. Hotels were open in Kaghan & few were also open in Naran. But till now lot of others will be open I am sure. Road to Lake is totaly closed due to snow. So there is no way to reach there. If u can wait till June 15, then it is quite possible to reach till Lake.

thankyou for your excelent reply , i was really not expecting such a detailed reply , me and my elder brother is really thankfull to you . nice to hear about the road condition till balakot but i am surprised to listen that petrol is not available beyond balakot.. but ur sugesstion about fuel filling is really valuable... thanks

actualy petrol is available but it is very difficult to find it from local shopkeeper at higher price coz there is no petrol pump in that area & u have to buy it from very few shops at higher price. Diesel is easily available coz mostly jeeps & hiaces are used there for transportation. have a nice journey

I had lot of adventures with my cultus, excellent engine and tyres. Want to plan a trip to Naran/Kaghan. How much time would it take to ream there from islamabad and can ma cultus go easily and when back have to do some work on it?

Bros all those who want to go to kaghan/naran plan ur visit in july...coz even in june the road to lake saif ul maluk might not b open.....the best season is july

Sorry for late reply, I was bit busy. dear if ur cultus is in good condition engine wise & especialy tyres. I also have 2008 VXRi Cultus & it is very good, u can go there easily at ur cultus. Have a nice journey.

I visited Kaghan Valley 3 times.

1st we visited in may 2004. we was at Lake Saiful Malook on 01-05-2009.

Lake was of snow. No water was seen at lake.

Anyone can visit kaghan valley by any type of car even on Mehran till naran, But 4x4 is needed to go to lake.

We visited twice by Suzuki Mehran.

Mr. Nasir & Asif I am very glad when i see you tour pictures because when i see then i remember my tour from Lahore to Naran, Kaghan & Lal Zar in September 2006 and August 2007 via Shogran, Balakot, Mansehra, Abbotabad & Galiat.

Good Planned Trip.

We been there this Aug 2009.

The only trouble was with Road from Balakot to Naran .

You did not traveled beyond Naran?

Mentioning "time taken" and "distances" this would be more helpful.

The images of Naran !! seemed to be deserted? What you think what is the best season to travel there.

Actualy we were there on May 1 & road beyond Naran was closed therefore can't go to Lake & Jal Khad. In my opinion the best time to visit Naran & Kaghan is End of June to September End. Yes actualy before May 1, road towards Naran was closed & only few pople were there no food available that time.
