Visit to Muzzafarabad, Neelum Valley & Pir Chinasi - June 2019

As agreed, all of us went to trek the peak. Initially we assumed that it'd take 15 to 20 mins to climb up the peak. But it took almost an hour. The track was very rough though some people brought their vehicles halfway. In the middle of climb we rested ourselves for a while.

For information: Visitors shall reach Pir Chinasi by 11:00 am, as after this influx of tourists occur and people can't even find a decent space to park their rides.

After an hours hike we finally reached on top and it felt like being on the roof of world. Mountains were in my line of sight and the Valley was below.

Elevation 9300 ft.

We stayed here for an hour and and clocked a good time

By 12:30 we left for Muzafarrabad and upon reaching our hotel freshened ourselves, packed our luggage and checked at 4:30 pm. While we were in lobby for check out, the hotel staff informed us about a wedding reception going to take place in PC that evening. They asked us that it will be there pleasure if we stay there and attend the Reception. In reply we thanked for their generosity and hospitality and asked them to wish the couple a happy life on our behalf.

Just before Kohala bridge we stopped at a river side restaurant . A cable car was there to take guests to the other side of river. The food quality was average but overall environment was good.

And finally we reached Islamabad at 12:00 am

How much is the distance and time from Islamabad to pir chanasi. Can it be covered in one day?? I mean, Travelling time both ways and spending 2-3 hrs there.

yes it can be done in a day but will be very hectic. from Isb it will take 3.5 hrs to Muzafarabad and another 2 hrs to Pir Chinasi.

which means one side travel of 5.5 to 6 hrs. If you leave from Isb at 6 in morning and reach PirChinasi by 12 in noon and stay there till 3 pm, you will be back home by 11 in evening

For visit in moharram i m not aware. But due to tension between India amd Pakistan it is advised to postpone your visit. as some places in neelum are easily in line of fire of Indian army especially Titwal sector(the area near Dhani waterfall). In past India has targetted civilians in this area.
