Roads are mostly in good condition in Neelum Valley but there is rough patch of approx 5 to 10 kms just before Neelum which will be constructed sooner

Since we only had one day to explore Neelum valley, it was decided to penetrate inside the valley as deeper as possible and return to Muzaffarabad same day. After a few hours drive from Muzafarrabad we reached our first attraction i.e Dhani waterfall which is considered to be the highest waterfall in Neelum.

Travelling further we came across Neelum Jhelum Dam. This hydro power project has the capacity to produce 960 MW.

In the above pic, while Kamal posed I was thinking: "YAAR KOI MAZAY KA FRAME NAE AA RAHA!"

After spending few moments there we resumed the journey.

In my opinion the scenic views start after passing the NJ power project.

While travelling on this route, one will witness the beauty of Neelum(valley not Munir ) on each side of road while passing some villages on the way. Later we reached Kundal Shahi bazaar after which the road splits into two. The road on the left leads to Jagran and other one to Athmuqaam, Keran etc.
As we were supposed to reach back to Muzzafarabd same day, we we took left turn.

At a distance of approx 8 kms from Kundal Shahi bazar; waterfall is situated. It is the same place where several university students supposedly tourists and some locals met their fate after a bridge collapsed on 13 May, 2018. We stopped here for more than half an hour.

Our next destination was Kutton resorts presently managed by AJK Electricity department. As far as I know decades earlier these resorts were actually cottages made for French or Swedish engineers who were looking after Jagran Hydropower project and after they went back it was converted into resort for tourists. Its peaceful and serene place to spend with family and loved ones. The furnished rooms are available at a decent rate. Bookings must be made in advance from their office in Muzaffarabad.

Masha Allah a really informative trip. Could you please share the charges of the pc muzaffarabad also the cottages and any other charges that incurred during the trip.

I'm planning to visit kashmir for the very first time from Karachi with family.. It will really help if I could know the incurring charges.

Approximately room charges were Rs. 18 to 19,000/- per night(tax incl) for double bed. we had dinner there once and ironing charges for Rs.12,000/-. Regarding to cottages at kutton, we did not stay there but they charge rs. 2500/- for single room and Rs. 3500 to 4500/- for large family cottages.

After lunch, we cranked the engine and started our journey to Muzaffarabad. On the way back we rested at Kundal Shahi waterfall and had some mangoes.

During driving I noticed in rear view mirror that the back seat passengers were sleeping. So I asked Imran to take a picture and troll them later
