Vitz 1sz gear issue

Hi, i recently bought vitz 99 and engine is 1sz. Problem is car drives fine in 2 and L but doesn't move in D. There is no light as well in D. On meter. My sister bought car and didn't even considered that issue. Now i need advice

Does the car give some feeling in D ? Or its like D is just not working at all....no.slight movement as well?

your gear selector is not working consult an electrition as its not showing d on the meter
it will not work because the ecu dosent know your car is in d mode

Could be a very expensive issue? In Lahore. Where should i go? I m afraid that whole gear may be very expensive

No feeling..no light at D . Every thing works fine on 2 and L modes. Reverse is also ok. Even light doesn't blink on D..seems like jaisay D exist hi nhn kertaa

no issue at all. Gear shifter sensor/gear selector sensor is bad. It is located on the gearbox opposite the radiator fan, many times the sensor it self goes bad & in some cases its wiring harness doesn't gives proper signals to the sensor.

Faced same issue in my vitz 2000 back in 2015 and I even got the complete gearbox replaced on our desi mechanic's advice, but the issue was still there. Khair we solved the problem by replacing this sensor as well as its wiring harness/connector afterwards.

I dont have any pic of that sensor, to explain you better about its location.

The sensor doesn't cost much, should be around 2k.

not an expensive fix
easily replaced
dont let anyone open the gear and all its an electrical fault will not cost you much as brother mentioned hardly a 2-3k job just need an honest electrition
iam from isb people from lhr may recommend a person tell them tour area they will recommend a good person around your living or working area

if you are in lahore just visit caregar restomods in johar town. google it and you will easily get there. the guy name is surkhail. a pakwheeler who owns a workshop. a guy with pure knowledge and rectifies the problem with proper equipments.
