easy.. For all cars....

Just go to your mechanic... have your radiator removed..There is a general term used by mechanics calledc"chemical wash". Actually what they do is they make a very dilute solution of acid,any readily available,like toilet cleaing solution.

After removing the radiator ...they whah it with that solution and BINGO.

Also condensor needs to be cleaned in the same manner, except that its not removed other wise refrigerent will be lost.

theory is that Radiator fins get clogged with dust and moisture hardens it. hence heat transfer area is reduced. Thus less effective cooling. Simple.

Remember have this done only by and expert..

I,by the way, do it myself.

Oh, well my radiator is quite good, just had it serviced and stuff, fins are good.. what I'm going to do is install a better fan, and see.

you are VERY lucky if TOYOTA people said you don't need to change anything.

as for the a/c, atiq bhai has the same problem with his. got it serviced, no improvement. got a filter out of the dashboard panel changed, still nothing. strange thing is he says it was working perfectly fine in Carachi last year.

Seems like a weak compressor but this can also be service issue.

What you can do is get your whole a/c System serviced they will take apart everything clean em and fit them back and replace any faulty things.

Kharcha will be around 2000 Rs.

But please tell me one thing..

If it work fines while moving around and not while idle..then how come A/c needs servicing?

for such sort of problems...The very first thing is to check for rediator,condensor surface.If clean,fine ..

If not then thats the problem.

In this case his fins are clean..as he say....so This must be a compressor related issue...A Weak compressor...When moving compressor rpm increases, it wworks much harder and you feel the difference. Since Vitx are 6-7 years old ...this could be the root cause..

But anywwaay before spending 20,000 on new compressor ..its wise to have you A/c Unit thoroughly serviced.

As we are discussings the AC probs i wana be a little off from kahmr78 bhais topic and just wana ask if there is sum problem wid every Lianas AC or is it just mine ?? The AC is sumwat shit, the fan speed is shit slow and the cooling is real pathetic... Sory kahmr bhai just wanted to ask my sumwat similar prob in your post... Hope sum1 does reply me as well.... Servicing some time can reveal problems for instance maybe the dryer bottle is chocked or the expansion valve needs to be changed.

And you can clean the condenser from outside but for cleaning evaporator you have to open up the inside box.

So servicing improves cooling.

BTW try not to use the fresh air option in the car its better to open up window than using fresh air.

If you are a frequent fresh air user than your evaporator needs more frequent service.

Hussam, Liana's a/c works fine you need to get your A/C checked. How old is your Liana? and whats the mileage?

Actually this small engine theory is fine but if your a/c is in good condition than it works fine

I got old 86 charade with 1000cc engine and my a/c is great.

What happens is the bigger the engine the bigger the compressor and the better the handeling power of engine of A/C.

But if you install Senden (Original) compressor with good condensor and your car dont have overheating problem you will forget 1300CC cars a/c

the most chilling a/c in small cars that i've come across till today is the one in an FX dad borrowed from someone when Corolla met an accident almost ten years ago. yes, as you can imagine, it was installed later.

Below 1000CC problem is the Engine Heat bcoz of small body stracture you can not install 2 fans so some lucky people are running a/c on 800cc but most will face problems.

I had the similar problem last week. But I ignored it, than later on ac didn't even cool when car was running. I went to the ac shop and got my ac checked. It has some leakages. Problem got resolved and now its working perfect.

go to Mr. Rehan in G-8. his number is 03315236812. give my reference as Saqib, the one who got new compressor in grey Corolla `97. if he still doesn't recall, say m Rohail's friend. slightly expensive but sensible. o! i've yet to take Vitz to him.

Sir my liana is 2006 and the milage is 42K but the AC is not upto the mark, dunno y but the throw is real low and the air is not that cold either.. Needs a looooooong trip 2 cool down that 2 when all of the windows are shaded...
