AoA,
Where is the traction control sensor located in vitz 3rd generation? Its not turning off from the button... I suspect that it might be dirty

I believe traction / stability control works with a combination of various sensors (ABS, Vehicle Speed sensor, Steering wheel angle, Yaw sensor which is kinda like gyro of smartphones)

If you can hookup OBD scanner the vehicle might be able to tell exactly which sensor is acting up.

There is no “tcs/abs” singular sensor

What you are seeing is “fault state” of the system where the system is declaring that its off due to recorded malfunction, this is confirmed by activating the button to engage it.

If the system is ignoring the input and does not self reset after key cycling, then you need to connect a scan tool to check the error and rectify the fault, the unit will start behaving once its restored to normal.

I realized it happened due to battery replacement. I scanned it and turnned out to be c1433 error, on google it says "steering angle sensor" but in the scanner " its "ABS control unit #2". However, the code is not clearing up... On youtube, they say you have to reprogram the sensor...
Is there any way to solve this problem or just clear the code?
BTW the car is behaving normally

There is a special function in the abs/tcs module to initiate the learning. Its quite long but works.

There is a dumb way but it almost never works, i forget the sequence but its so long that it drops the battery charge to a level that wont allow it to complete.

I prefer to do it on the scan tool, make sure your scan tool is bidirectional.

Can the common OBDii scan tool do that?
Or is there an APK which cud do tht?
And whats the other way you are mentioning, any link on the internet for that method?

Common obd scan tools range from simple code readers to phone apps with dongles.

Both of those wont work.

Find a mechanic with a real bidirectional scan tool to get the steering angle dialed in, any decent workshop should have it.
