@ Romano, i just contacted the owner and was informed that these are orignal VW has been in storage for atleast 30 years with 2 still in orignal packing. The $1 was just an advertisement gimmick he did to attract people, but in reality was accepting offers. So he has a offer of $80 for all 4, you will have to raise that to get it.

This looks like a low budget version of an engine stand.

I dont think its going to be as versatile as the better model (no pics at the moment at hand) in which you can turn the engine around as you work on it.

But still its interesting. I think even this would allow rotation...

When are you going for a rebuild?? Current one or a second engine? Second engine sounds more feasible esp if you keep the bug on the road all this while...

Second engine would be more feasible but I'd like to stick with this one now, as it already needs a rebuild and I won't be implementing my 'plans' till I have the stuff ready.

Yeah running. The rear brake cylinders need replacing. And the sound is very hot-roddish 'cos of the missing tail pipes.
