Hello all! Nice to be back after such a long time. Been very busy with things.
Anyway...
I've recently purchased a new ride, of which I intend to post pics soon. It's a '66 LHD Beetle (1300) with a sliding sunroof (Type 117, US model), in pearl white with a reddish leatherette interior, sunroof works great all rare bits intact. Mostly pretty original, done about 73,000 miles or so, believed genuine - had 2 owners most of its life here in Islamabad, an old man and his wife, who apparently pampered it well. It looks like a blast from the past, a little rough round the edges, but that's the way VWs should be in my opinion. It's a daily driver, and I've covered well over 500 trouble-free miles in a short space of time.
It feels great to be back in VW ownership, once again!
I need some info on 2 other particularly rare VWs here in ISB, maybe Storm and Romano can shed some light:
1. There is, believe it or not, a '58 or '59 (I think) lowlight Karmann Ghia Coupe in a two-tone green, somewhere on Margalla Road, F-10. Been trying to get the guy to sell for years...won't budge. Any info on this...such a shame that a beautiful car is kept locked up like that. Where is it now, and is it for sale? :A
2. There's also a '65 or '66 Bug Convertible (I mean the real deal, Karmann version) in a beige colour somewhere in Islamabad - who owns this, what's the deal with it, and is it for sale??
Your help will be highly appreciated,
