I believe the whitewalls in questions are the same as on your car????

These are the thinner kind if Im not mistaken. Do these have a thin yellow line in the mid?? What brand are these?? Atlas???

These white walls are thicker and there is no yellow line in the mid, totally white in colour. Imported from turkey. Suitable for every beetle or antique cars having 15" rims. If anyone intends to buy then contact me. Huge stock available.

today got my 2.5'' white wall inserts and sideview mirrors for my '69.

Congrats on the nice stuff. Have these been self imported or shipped?? Please share your experience of shipping here with us.

How much did the whitewall inserts cost you?? These seem to be the  wider ones. Is 2.5 inches the total width or the width of the portion  that shows once installed?? What is the brand name?? Company from which  obtained??

   Contrary to what it seems at first glance, this 1302 *is* a worth project car. Above picture shows that the floor has not been subject to shoddy repairs in the past, at least in the area shown. The bulkhead looks clean too. 

   This car deserves a body off resto, it would not be too difficult, compared to the average Karachi bug which has had many many idiotic repairs in the past.

   1302 bugs would be difficult when it comes to sourcing parts for the front suspension though. But where there's a will there's a way. You would be rewarded with a great comfy ride.

Again, I see many positives......the dash is not butchered.....the front bonnet area retains many bits which are almost impossible to locate locally these days.....

Do remember that once you strip this car for a rebuild, bag, label and store each part carefully. Your effort would be rewarded.

today went to Basit denter to check progress on my '69. Thanks god, finally he has restarted the dent work.

  Do keep us posted about basits work.....do remember that you have to keep tabs on him and be involved in each step of the rbuild.....supervise, guide and bother the hell out of him :P

reference to my earlier post, pics of the donor '69. It used to belong to some hunter who used it routinely until abandoned 5 years back. Engine turned out bad rest of the stuff was all good. Able to salvage, front & rear suspension complete, gear box, steering column, wiper motor, wiper switch, door nobs and handles.

On a lookout for another such abandoned misadventure for an engine.

Its always sad for me to see another one bite the dust.....but at least you salvaged some good bits off it. A local Kabaria/scrappie would have just the beaten the bits to pulp and sold on for metal.....

I hope you dismantled as much as possible and kept all reusable bits.....

  To all those who think that bugs are still cheap and aplenty....think again!!

  Spoke to my scrapyard contacts and got to know that bugs are now very rarely being butchered there.....reason??? They cant find any....... the main dealer got the first bug in since Eid.......it runs and is complete....hope someone can rescue it before it dies....

i've seen people chop the panel open which is insanity, the only way i can think of doing it without damaging the panel is to sand blast it.

@AsadIshaque, hello doc, welcome back. I've mailed you earlier for few suggestions. These parts were ordered in NY by my sister and brought in by my folks, so don't know about the shipping hassel.

Side mirrors (pair) were US$ 15.14 plus shipping. Purchased from DriveWire - 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Base 4 Cyl 1.5L Mirror

White wall are actual 2.5" after installation and these are for US$59.99 plus shipping purchased from White Wall Insert, Set Of 4 15" - VW Parts

Currently I'm only having the engine rebuilt and brake work for the 1302. As for the parts for the 1302 Almighty has given me a source already located in the US. I'll try to rebuilt the 1302 on stock specs. Sourcing parts might take time so it'll be slow and steady. I appreciate your suggestion to label and store the parts seperately, it never came to my mind.

I bought the scrap bug for engine but it was no good, was only able to salvage few parts.

As far a Basit denter is concerned, I religiously pay him two visits daily, though it takes time to go there all the way from I.I Chundrigar road, but it keeps him tapping. I sure will post the pics soon.

What about the Vw available with the scrapee, whats the engine displacement?

there are pretty much 3 carbs to choose from

30, 31 & 34

30's are on 1200's & some 1300's (SP)
31's are on 1300's (SP & DP) & 1500's
34's are found on 1600's and a few 1500's

an AR 1300 Dualport will have a 31, whereas an AS 1600 Dualport will have a 34.

the difference comes on the intake manifold but they can be mixed and matched to almost any configuration.
