I really enjoyed driving Sally back to your home. Spending 5 years in a garage, it was still running very smooth and sound. Just loved and enjoyed every bit of it.

i'm just kidding about romano not bringing his car. he worked his tushy off getting the VWCOP and VCCCP members accomodated, ready and there on time.

shakeel is a real superstar, he saved the day by taking the cabrio back to base.

here's a few images of what Nasir & I managed to get done the day before the VCCCP show in ISB (rather than going to bhera to collect them). Nasir called in a truck to his house to transport the cabrio and oval ragtop as he didn't want to risk damaging the cylinder walls by cranking them dry after storing them for 4 years.

Got the cabrio off the truck...

Ilyas taking out the plugs and then putting a shot of oil into each cyl followed by a mild hand crank to get the juices flowing.

add a fresh battery and leave it to khalid to get her fired up on her first try. the smoke was from the oil which was chucked into the top of the piston (read above)

Nasir was mentally drained that day, like a father awaiting the delivery of a child,.. just look at him (far left). meanwhile khalid kept the revs up to burn off the excess oil.

lately we're very active, Zohare and I were supposed to go to the show but after speaking to him at 10am he had convinced me to get some rest,.. woke up late so i decided to make a run to my other house and bring back the 1303 (and leave the 182)

Ah the OVAL RT!!! Even all my toes wouldn't be enough to get my hands on one in the end, I reckon I wish I had more toes to give away in exchange to bring one home!

funny thing is that i almost bought her years ago from abid but he was asking too much money. in the end he got desperate and Nasir was at the right place at the right time and picked her up for less than what abid was demanding a few months before that.

at least she went to the best possible home.(H)

how many mk3s are there in isb. This is the third one Ive seen in pics. Your reply seems like it was burning its lubricating oil rather than fuel oil.

Blaupunkt Santos is ON but does it catches AM/SW frequencies? I dunno because I just checked it. It did turn on (which is a very good sign - my radio didn't even turn on when I took it to Ustaad Mazhar) but since at this time there was no Radio Frequency operational so I dont know if it catches any frequencies.

However it does need a good cleaning as has decades and decades of gunk. Would take it to Ustaad Mazhar tomorrow as have to go see him anyway. But plz do bear in mind that he is pretty busy a tech and took over a month to fix my vintage National Solid State ISO Bug Radio.

Will keep you posted on this one.

Thats good news! i dont mind waiting 3 months even as long as i do get it in the end:P as for the working status...lets hope Ustan Mazhar can work his magic on this one. even if not though, the radio will add the required wow factor to the interior! waiting impatiently for it to come together... fingers crossed!!!

now tome for a question...the speaker grill we have up front, what kind of speaker did that hold. what size, what shape etc? while i have a stereo in the back, i want the radio to work from the front only. that will be super cool!!!

This is a 1997 Vw Golf Mk3(Diesel). It was my car and I sold it to this guy. Unfortunately the car got heated, which lead him to overhaul the engine. He came to us and requested to overhaul the engine but due to some reasons, we didnt agree on it.
The problem for lots of smoke was its wrong timing, it was not adjusted properly as it was in the hands of wrongs mechanic.
The mechanic turned up his hands and stop working on his car and at last he said that there is a fault in Diesel pump and nozzles have to be replaced.
I stopped him, told him that its not the fault of pump and nozzles except the wrong timing and ask him to get the car back from the mechanic.
Later on he decided to go to Khalid, Khalid adjusted the timing and now the car is running fine and smooth. (H)

Oh it aint going anywhere so just chill. The fact of the matter is that since I dont personally prefer buying a radio without knowing if it works or not, therefore I am not choosing to pass it on without being sure if it works else I could pass it on to you the way I had received it anytime since my solid state now hums harmonious tones

About the question, you see the size was an odd one that came with the bugs it was something between 4.5' - 5.25" and wasn't perfectly square or even round or even rectangular. Those were specifically built to fit bug dash speaker grill shape using either brackets or mounts. I have however settled for a 4.5" Jap speaker for now on Patina until I could find and locate the OG speaker with matching mounting bracket.

haha!! yea il have to wait..but still...cant help but be excited as for the speaker..yea i guess a 4.5 will have to do..il hopefully see the fitting on patina when you come to Islamabad soon?
