As for the pricing is concerned, thats what we are trying to accomplish here. Their dealer here in LHR wants us to compile an order and share with him to work with the pricing and quote us. If the prices are reasonable, we'll go forward and order otherwise we simply can excuse, as simple as that. So you see it doesn't hurt asking for a price quote or does it?

1. forget the AC it's going to cause major issues
2. interior is up to you
3. local alloys, please don't. stick to original VW steel wheels or VW-specific alloys. as for tyres, use the new honda city tyres, they are good enogh.
4. parcel shelf, why not (or did you mean roof rack?)
5. suspension can be sorted with new bushes. try not to used non-vw bushes.
6. change your transmission fluid to SAE90, most likely it's got SAE 140 in there which is causing this issue (which has been described in my 182 thread)
7. Ball joints are available through Nasir sheikh (while stocks last).
8. get some dynamat sheets installed on the centre tunnel and on the back under the rear seats. the rest can be made silent with some felt under the carpets and a good quality engine soundproofing kit (made locally)
9. chrome side mirrors are made in china and should be your last choice, the best ones are the black (plastic) ones which looks very similar to the ones on a mehran.
10. i'd highly advise you remove the plates and go stock. rest is explained above (point number 3)

to clarify, i have the interior (under dash) parcel shelf that i got made myself and love it! and i'd rather stick with my side mirrors till i find good quality chrome ones cause mine a much better than those hideous black ones.

i'm a little confused about the rims / tires. you mentioned its best to go for the original steel rims and get the adapter plate out. (though that's a separate debate cause i don't understand how changing the PCD would affect the suspension as long as the new rims are the same size and weight as the originals), i'll change to the original rims so if anyone has any leads, pls point me to them. as for tires, you mentioned to use the new city ones, but i'm guessing the mini pajero tires are narrower and taller, hence closer to the original. pls sort out my confusion here.

i still need to address the engine knocking issue.

please elaborate further on the engine soundproofing kit & the dynamat.

Often the exterior chrome trim comes off because some of the plastic clips that hold them breaks. Is there any permanent solution to this? Local mechanics put a rivet through the trim. Are there metal clips available locally?

lately I've been having a weird issue. although I'm quite certain its due to the engine knock that I haven't been able to isolate yet, but here's what's happening. after some driving, around 10-15km, the oil light starts to flicker at idle, such as stopping on signals. I'm assuming its due to slight overheating, as at that time the knocking also elevates. this may be due to faulty timing or Carb, but I'd like to hear your perspective on this issue. I keep the idle a bit on the lower side but not so much that the oil pump lags. also this problem doesn't occur till I've driven a bit, and he engine is a lot warmer. the oil level is fine and the distributor timing also seems alright.

any ideas?
