Hassanazeem....I think your bug looks sky high due to the fact it is running on smaller rims/low profile tyres. I think the setup is 14 inches dia as opposed to the stock 15 inches.
I would not at all be surprised if you find non stock coil springs up front. Some genius may have put them there for raising the car. Or maybe they put spacers under the coils for the same effect.
Take a peek under the front fenders and look at the springs. Can you count the number of coils for us please??
Another possibility which I cannot rule out entirely (considering what horrors we are used to seeing locally) is the use of some other cars shocks up front.
