An engine can be purchased for anything between 20,000 and 50,000 depending on condition. Seats you can find for about 5,000 if you look around. However if the rails have been cut out you may want to stay with good japanese seats with all the adjustments and head restraints.

Guys i am looking for a preferably late 50's or early 60's bug or Van with original engine as a restoration project. If any available at reasonable price do tell. Thanks.

Its 68-69 model.Does it have 'juice' to be restored or should be left to be slaughtered?

Can certainly be restored although a lot more effort will be required. On the other hand, instead of wasting it for the price of metal, it may be used as a donor car.
