Yes his 1200cc economy bug has a 1600 dual port put in for fun driving. The original engine is carefully stored I believe so Im sure the car can be reversed back to its original form in a matter of a couple of hours.
What Romano preaches (correct me if Im wrong please) is for people to first sort out the mechanical bits the right way and only then going for alloy rims and such bling bling.
An original beetle has its own charms even if its in faded paint. One needs to see it through the eyes of a lover!
