No 12 is not a typo..... it comes with six speed transmission but it also has a low ratio gearbox which has six gears as well....so its high and low... combined its 12 forward gears!!

Then that means any 4speed auto with Overdrive comes with 8 gears, if your reasoning is to be believed. I do not think that would be the way to count gears.

They actually showed touareg towing a 747 in last week's fifth gear. The touareg had michelin tires and they recommended tht the tires will explode if it goes above 20mph.

i dont think its amazing thing ... a man can pull it so can a suv ...
no tires cannot explode on 20/mph .. velocity of a stationary plane is at max as accelerion is zero .. moving it is the most tricky and dangerous thing because acceleration is inversly proportional to velocity. when the plane moves ... acceleration required is lesser than the velocity of the plane, so its easier for the car..
person who towed the plane... he worked for several minutes to just slightly move the plane. when it moved, increasing speed of a moving plane is eaisier than moving a statinary plane.
please note that truck which moves a plane has lesser power than this car ...

4,345 kg of ballast in the form of steel plates set behind the front bumper and beneath the engine, which meant tht tire had to be filled up with extra air (nearly twice the orig. pressure). Which means tht tires would explode because of friction.

thats an assumption that tire had doube air pressure .. what does the site says about air pressure in tires.. whatever may be added , this car looks nowhere near as heavy as that which pulls aircraft ...
