These pics were taken on the same date as the rest of the picz I uploaded pw picz uploading system was messing tht day hence I av uploaded them today I av the car inspections done by the Guy on people's chowrangi and he said the engine was fine I bought the missing bits since however if u still insist I don't mind getting a second opinion. PS we are taking the engine out n work on engine bay n getting the engine bits chromed plz plz plz advice as I know u really r a clued up Guy n a perfectionist I would love to do what it takes for a smooth engine Thnx in advance

first of all i would like you thanks you for your time and help it means a lot and i can not really thank you enough

i didn't get the compression done see now you know why i am here i am not an expert hence i have been asking you lot all these questions

plan about the engine bay

take the engine out, take off all the paint, look for rust, and repaint it

chrome was an idea that just came to me today (H)

what i wanted to do was get the following parts chromed(see attached pic)

plz advice if you think it is a bad idea

thanks a lot for your feedback, i sure will get the compression test done asap and will get back to you with results i am taking the only thing i can get chromed is them pulleys. oh well i guess i should thank you for the reality check my imaginations were running a little to wild

^^ do like reez said, get it to work like the VW factory made it. Chroming, polishing etc etc should be your last priority. Correction of all the working parts on your beetle would require some elbow grease and patience. Do not hasten jobs in the name of "jugaarbaazi".

And do clean up every part and place you work on a bottle full of water mixed with ajax and some towels work

ok i am a little confused here, what you are saying is i can buy the kit from any auto parts supplier and can DIY the test. the illustration you sent over involved a lot of heavy duty equipment or this one is a scaled down version of the same test
