Congrats brother. What was the actual price and registration charges etc. and whats the difference between VXL and VXR models?

price 1,004,000 (I paid 50%)
w/h tax 20,000 (will get it back once car is transferred to my name)
premium 20,000 (had to do it as waiting time on VXL is 60 days to 90 days)
registration 35,000
Takaful 40,000
Bank Charges 8000
Total Including Down Payment: 625,000

So what is the difference between conventional and islamic auto financing?

The basic principle of islamic banking is that it minimises risk for both parties. I have paid 50% and I am the owner of car as well as is the bank. secondly, islamic banks are very flexible when it comes to payment. if you have trouble paying you inform the bank of your circumstances and bank will let you use the asset without bothering you and wont charge you anything(i have been told upto one year); the case should be the genuine though. one good point is that in takaful you share the cost if car is accidented. this prevents me from misusing the car and if in the end i do not use takaful i will be given back my money after deducting takaful charges(some fixed amount and tracker charges)

Tachometer, power windows, central locking are biggest differences between VXR and VXL. other differences are not so important.

Congrats on the purchase bro, I have done an analysis on Banks and financing, and according to my calculations Bank Al Habib is the cheapest of them all.
Unfortunately I could't get my car leased, as it turns out my employer does not wish to give me a pay slip (tax issue) and the banks want it as a proof of income. Thus the remorse.
