I was thinking the same, to get from kabariya etc. First I'll check it from Toyota what they are going to charge, and then I'll search market for it. I hope it's not that expensive :s

Lol, thanks for the link, I have messaged him if the steering rack is still up. I hope this steering doesn't have clock spring issue.

As said - do not attempt to repair the clockspring and make sure its centered when you install it. If its off centre it will break again as the steering goes to full lock. (If your car as evidence of steering rack replacement/repair - it can be assumed the mechanic did not centre and lock the steering before undoing the pinchbolt of the column.

Toyota made generic clocksprings and used them in all cars of same production era.

(If your car as evidence of steering rack replacement/repair - it can be assumed the mechanic did not centre and lock the steering before undoing the pinchbolt of the column.

I bought a replacement clock spring for my corolla 09 from shershah in Karachi for 4500 about 6 months ago, last week it stopped working. I asked toyota dealership and they quoted 22k for the clock spring and 2k for installation. What should I do?

Get another Kabli one , there must be a market in Karachi where they will sell. Will cost around 3k Maximum

thats what I am saying I bought a kabli one and it hardly worked only for 6 months.

these coils have pretty much life if u dont unfix ur steering wheel pretty much and if u do do take care of the position of it
All cars which have air bag in their steering have this coil u can easily get from any kabli spare part shop

Install properly and ensure that the ribbon has required length.Should last long..

old used parts can be stretched as the steering column assemblies slop around. My usual cost for these items were Rs 200/- as I was the one weirdo in a jump suit with leather gloves rummaging through piles of stuff in godowns.
