Appreciate the detailed post Mansoor bhai. Would like to mention, though, that the Astola island (also called Haft Talar) is the hotspot of fish and coral diversity is Pakistan. Although it is not around Karachi (it is about 40km off Pasni), it is the biggest island in the entire Persian Gulf. One destination for the die-hard adventurer.

arey bhiya, karachi got everything a man can wish.

beaches, i am sorry if some one has not seen by himself. you can reach sonehri beaches just ahead of gadani beaches, if u have some interest in archeology and ancient building structures than u may visit thatha (2 -3 hours drive from karachi)Thatha also has world oldest and biggest graveyard. the building structures of tombs standing there will mesmerize you there are lake, karli lake and halji lake full of wild life. halji lake have eligaters in it as well.though thatha is one of the oldest city of sindh having buildings of mughal empire. if u are fond of fishing than there is a hell of oppertunity, if u wish to have some long drives than u can get in the amazing scenes of indus highway or furhter if possible makran coastal highway

inside karachi, there are numerous parks and sure enough u wont forget the bar b q of noorani kabab house at the end of khalib bin walid road. for shopping may visit tariq road. for motor biking, i dont know abt now but a few years back, i along with hundereds of bikers used to visit sea view for different stupidities (stunts and racings)..

brother there is a lot in that region, u just need to have some one who really knows what karachi is... not like the initial posters who by themselves dont know what this region is meant for

I've so far never left Karachi and the Arabian Sea region except for a week in 1996, so I can tell you that our guys who say that Karachi (and Pakistan, for that matter) has everything are spot-on. Besides all the great destinations already mentioned, since you're coming in December Insha Allah, why not try something different? Provided it is not against one's religion and the law, it never hurts. Check out these threads: this and this.

Those who have never seen the sky's treasures (because most of us live under domes of wasted artificial light) never know what they are missing.

Not to say that you become a hardcore skywatcher, but since Karachi currently hosts Pakistan's (and Saudia's) biggest telescope, you might want to have a look through it on a clear, cold night.

i've heared isb is alot cleaner. Sadly i'll be busy with all the wedding stuff and i only got 30 days...Next holidays Inshallah

MAN We need sum heavy investment here in lahore like gud parks... more cafe's restaurants n amusement parks... not like joyland... like wonderland in canada... although neva been to karachi b4 in mi life but i saw da pictures n i waz shocked dat karachi iz like diff. n it doesn even luk like itz realli in Pakistan...
