What engine coolant is good for alto 2010

Radiator coolant is not a serious parameter on which you need think tanks to give a deep thought. Some of my brothers wrote very right in above threads that its only an anti-freezing/anti-boiling agent. i have 4 cars Alhamdullilah 2.0D saloon, liana, japanese alto and a pakistani alto. i m using that so called japanese brand coolant osaka which is about 150rs per bottle, single bottle mixed with AC drain water is good enough for an alto to maintain its cooling system in all seasons, when one talks about brands, its always expensive, they only cost you for there names. my pakistani alto is 70,000 kms driven totally on CNG (twice or thrice a week on petrol, only 2-3 kms) AC always on and it has never created any temperature issues, radiator is as clean as new since 5 years.
no need to spend big money on an option which can be easily replaced by a cheaper one which also fulfills your requirement. if a 150rs bottle can give you 1 year trouble free ride what else you want

When you go and buy petrol - you can buy it in a jerry can being sold at the side of the road under a tree or you can buy it at a licensed station like - both are petrol.

similarly when you buy coolant - you would rather buy something that actually is for anticorrosion and antifreezing, and has something written on it that proves its usage, All the osaka little cans Ive ever seen have extremely bad english on them and sometimes also have some particulate matter suspended in them. No mention of dilution or any special property like antifoaming etc.

On the other hand you can buy many brands of antifreeze coolant in Pakistan which are being sold at good lube shops, most of their customers have engines costing 20 times more than your corolla diesel, alto etc. combined. You wont find any osaka marka coolant there.

ok,i have done experiment wiht the OSAKA so called coolant,i put it in a transparent bottle,poured about 25% water and few nuts and bolts in it... and within 2 months,it all turned rusty.i can even upload the picture..hold on,let me get it for u!

Although OSAKA is not a good coolant but If u put any coolant in rusty radiator, or put any rusty thing in any coolant - result will be same.

To use coolant, radiator must be clean and rust free. The purpose of coolant is to protect radiator from rust - not to clean it.

To clean rust in radiator, u need to flush the radiator and then fill with normal water and then run the car for few KMs and then again flush all the water - if possible keep flushing until the clear water comes back.

Then use Liqui Moly Radiator cleaner put some water and then again drive the car for few KMs and then flush the cooling system.

Then add good anit-freez/coolant.

My radiator was also rusty even I was using coolant of Caltex then I did what I mentioned above and now after 3 months radiator is still clean.

Yes right - also most of OSAKA coolants available here are fake. Its better to use plain water rather than OSAKA.

Suzuki recommends Pyro brand coolant. Rs 100/ltr.

Dont remember exactly but its around 400. I think 280 or 380.

Also u need to flush cooling system few times after using it.

ZIC coolant tht i have in me car..4 liter cost around 1200 or 1250..but its pre diluted so just open up the pack n pour it in radiator..no hassle of equally adding water thingy!

pyro is good/....liqui moli is also available aroun 350-400 per liter!

zic coolant is pre diluted...i bought it for like 1250 last year ,4 liter pack n just poured it in without adding any water..its ready to use coolant!

@raoshahzad..no other coolant works like Toyota coolant. i have tried many brands but no other coolant comes close in performance to toyota coolant

they recommend whoever pays them, they even recommend the crappy shell oils

Its better to buy genuine local coolant rather than fake imported one.

before going way happy and flushing your radiator, make sure there is no coolant remaining in it, the flush needs to work with water. remedy - drain all old coolant into pan - remove Tstat and reverse flush all the trapped coolant out including heater core, fill with water and flusher and then do as directed on the bottle. flush flush flush then install Tstat and refill with new or your old coolant if good to use.
