i am dead sure the main target for this car would be to replace 2 stroke rickshaws which as per govt announcement are due for replacement with a 4-stroke vehicle within a year or so.
There are more than 200,000 rickshaws in Karachi alone and it will create a huge vacuum once they are banned on streets. It is bcz of this development that we see this vehicle (TMC) active. Otherwise I have serious doubts about the other usage of this vehicle (as private car, van etc) as people have better alternatives. besides as i understand its a soft top that doesnt even have windows.
there are still a few concerns however. one is the reliability of this vehicle (being of chinese origin) and availability of spare parts. the other is that once thousands of these vehicles start queueing up at CNG stations, it will seriously jeopardize the already tight supply situation of CNG and what will happen to the already long lines of consumers at CNG stations??? how long will the waiting time be for getting CNG filled in your car??
