First of all I would say it is a great thread, secondly I appreciate you hard work.

Now talking about the cars, I don't like the asian Honda Accord, rear lamps are way too similar to old BMW 7-Series (2001-2007) and I was also surprised to see that car in manual transmission.

I liked the Limo bus on the 7th page

Thanks. This thread is no hard work at all. All pics are taken in passing on my way somewhere or where i park and as far as dealer visits to check out new cars, i would do it anyways. I'm just sharing my info and pics in this thread. I prefer the European Accord too. The Buick like US spec Accord is available in India with manual and auto tranny and a V-4 and V-6 option as well.

Launch of Maruti SX4 diesel faces delay

Maruti had promised that 2009 was going to be the year of increasing its presence in the diesel end of the market and had plans to push its premium sedan SX4 into the diesel category. But the company is running into delays in procuring the diesel engine from FiAT.

Fiat is already a supplier for Suzuki's SX4 range in Europe with a 1.9 litre engine.

In India, Maruti is keen on a 1.6 litre engine to help keep the price tag relatively lower but currently Fiat has licensed Suzuki to make only the 1.3 litre unit in India, not the 1.6 or 1.9 for that matter.

Maruti was keen on launching the diesel SX4 since Honda's new City came in to the market in October last year.

But Fiat did not want a clash with its new Linea that came into India this January. Fiat is expected to first launch a more powerful diesel Linea and that’s why the SX4 gets pushed to 2010.

This may not be great for Maruti as the SX4 has been steadily losing share with the Honda City now outselling the SX4. In the last six months, Honda sold 15,000 Cities while Maruti sold just 8000 SX4s.

Maruti is hoping the diesel SX4 revives the model's fortunes as it currently also gets cannibalised by the Swift Dzire.

Maruti is sticking to its volumes strategy and the new SX4 will only add to that but by ensuring that the engines are made in India, Maruti is also keeping one eye firmly on the margins.

"Stop-Gap"Santro - Till the fully redesigned model appears late this year or early next year. probably at the 2010 New Delhi Auto Show. What one gets for RS3.6lacs in the top-end model are a subtly redesigned body color coded radiator grill, gussied up console and instrument cluster, new spoiler, wheel covers and new fabric pattern. Deal of the week from Maruti-Suzuki - 2009 Alto @RS2.97lacs with the wavy gravy on the side, silver colored body mouldings and side mirrors, new fabric pattern and wheel covers!.

Tell me what is wrong with the traffic flow in this pic?. DO lights mean anything?

This is a factory authorized promo . Dealers are free to improvise a bit based on availability of wheel covers , stickering etc., and goes by the name "Xcite" in this region. That's what the dealer guy told me or you know more than they do.

Ok, didnt know that it was a factory authorized sale. Am actually a bit surprised at that coz thats a really wacky colour theme for Maruti to place in the market. My analysis was that the specific dealer was selling off old stock or damaged car or a test-drive vehicle after doing her up.
